Project g9 - Street Paving and Maintenance Programs

Each year the street program consists of crack repair, sealcoating and occasional overlays of
municipal paved roads. These projects are conducted with the City General Tax levy subsidizing
some project costs with the primary funder being the benefitted property owner. Additionally, the
City has identified a need to cause all of the unpaved road surfaces to be paved in the near term.
Contemplated is an intensive three year program to ensure that the bulk of these road surfaces are
paved. It is expected that the General Fund will experience costs to fund unique expenses or
portions demonstrating hardship.

project Year

Street Paving Program 1994 $ 50,000 - Assessment
$ 20,000 - General Fund

Street Paving Program

1995 $ 50,000 - Assessment
$ 20,000 - General Fund

Street Paving Program

1996 $ 50,000 - Assessment
$ 20,000 - General Fund

Street Maintenance Program

Annual $100,000 - Assessment
$100,000 - General Fund

$ 210,000
+ Annual Program

Project gl0 - 167th Crosstown

The only collector roadway between 153rd Avenue N.W. and Trott Brook in Ramsey is 167th
Avenue N.W. between T.H. 47 and approximately Jaspar Street N.W. [just west of County Road
#5]. This collector should be extended west fi.om its present location to connect with Variolite
Street N.W. The alignment will include property acquisition and possibly environmental impacts
which must be mitigated. A future consideration may be a further expansion to County Road #83.

Project Year F_altflJllg
167th Crosstown 2000 $ 700,000 - MSA

$ 700,000

Project #11 - Ramsey/Dayton Bridge

For a number of years metro agencies and area cities have been searching for a Mississippi River
crossing northwest of the T.H. 610 bridge in Brooklyn Park/Coon Rapids and southest of the
T.H. 101 in Elk River [in addition to the existing Anoka/Champlin bridge at T.H. 169 and Ferry
Street]. Since the late 1980's the alignment of choice is in Ramsey halfway between County
Roads #56 and #83 aligning with an extension of Hennepin County Road #121 in Dayton. The
alignment is now designated as a future arterial on Metropolitan Council planning documents.
Ramsey still needs to determine the alignment from the bridge abuunent north to connect to either
