Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Holm <br />and Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris reported that the City Attorney has determined that Mr. Shay's <br />proposal to advertise the sandwich shop to be developed on the property <br />meets the code requirements for free-standing signs. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaDue suggested that Mr. Shay could avoi~ the need ~or a <br />conditional use permit by lust changing the advertising copy on the <br />existing sign on the property. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that in his opinion, advertising an activity that <br />may ta~e place on the property within the next 5 years does not meet code <br />requirements to advertise an activity on or within 2600 feet of the subject <br />property. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to <br />recommend that City Council adopt the proposed findings of ~act, as <br />amended, relating to Mr. Shay's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Chairman Zimmerman stated that his main concern is limiting <br />the n~ber of signs along Hwy. #10, not with the length of time for which a <br />permit for a sign is issued. Commissioner Howell noted that the City lust <br />paid ~or a study o~ the Hwy. ~10 corridor that recommends limiting <br />advertising to one sign per business. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
