Ms. Heinen noted that Atlas would <br />be burning cattle and human remains and asked for an explanation of a term <br />found in Atlas' proposal -- abattoirs. Ms. Heinen stated that just listing <br />the products legitimate to burn may not get the attention of most people <br />but the residents of Hunter's Hill are paying attention. Burning food <br />wastes will release a lot of poisons into the air that people will breathe <br />24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the whole year through, with the amounts <br />increasing all the time. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Terry to adjourn <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Howell noted that at the June 7 public <br />hearj.ng, several questions were directed to MPCA; those questions have not <br />been transcribed so that they may be answered; the hearing should adjourn <br />with the exception that the written answers to those questions will be <br />accepted. Commissioner Hendriksen noted that adjourning the public hearing <br />does not preclude soliciting information from other sources. Mr. Goodrich <br />stated that any additional information the Commission receives from PCA and <br />engineers has to be afforded the opportunity to be cross examined by the <br />applicant and any other interested persons. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Terry, <br />Hendriksen and Holm. Voting No: Commissioner Howell.
