Motion by Commissioner Holm and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to amend <br />Condition #16 to indicate that no hazardous waste, as defined by the Uo S. <br />EPA, shall be burned at the facility. However, MPCA standards and City of <br />Ramsey standards, in the event they are adopted, shall be taken into <br />consideration during reviews of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />LaDue, Shumway, Holm and Terry. Voting No: None. Inc.: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that Atlas is requesting approximately $550,000 in tax <br />increment financing assistance for their project. Preliminary projections <br />show that the project will generate sufficient increment to support that <br />level of city participation. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holm and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to <br />recommend City Council approval of the request by Atlas Incinerators, Inc. <br />for City participation in their proposed project and to recommend site plan <br />approval. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Commissioner <br />Howell. <br /> <br />Commission consensus was the the r~aining cases be tabled until the July 7 <br />regular Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holm stated that initi-~olly, he was very concerned with Atlas' <br />proposal from a health and welfare standpoint. Atlas, in their <br />presentations, answered all of his concerns and it appears to be a fine <br />organization concerned with public health and welfare; the firm should be <br />an excellent addition to Ramsey. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that Atlas will provide nearby, high-paying, <br />technical employment in Ramsey.
