Absent: Commissioners Shumway, Holm C~se #4: Request For A Conditional Use Permit To Operate A FirewoQ~ Sales Business And Storage Of A Second Commercial Vehicle On Proparty; Case Of Mr. Ronald Hanson: Mr. Hanson was present requesting a conditional use permit to operate a firewood sales business from his property at 14820 St. Francis Blvd. NoW. The Commission reviewed the aerial quarter section map of the subject parcel and determined that Mr. Hanson's property is two separate adjoining parcels of 5 acres plus. Mr. Hanson informed the Commission that he has two large trucks stored on the property at present and that he is in the process of selling them. Mr. Hanson informed the Commission that he would use the 30'x40' pole barn located on the property to store his material and equipment, which would consist of a 2-1/2 ton dump truck, bobcat and log splitter. Commissioner Hendriksen recalled that the public hearing relating to Mr. Hanson's request was held on September 8, 1988 and two letters in opposition of Mr. Hanson's request were received at that time. Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner Terry to table action on Mr. Hanson's request for a conditional use permit in order for Mr. Hanson to contact his neighbors and obtain their written statements that they do not oppose his request. Absent: Commissioners Shumway, Holm Case #5: Request For Site Plan Review: Case Of United Power Association UPA): Mr. Gary Ostrom was present representing UPA and presented the proposed site plan for an electrical substation on 153rd Avenue N.W. between Cty. Rd. #5 and Hwy. #47. The Commission reviewed the City Engineer's report dated October 4, 1988. Mr. Ostrom stated that the screening along the east, west and north perimeter of the site would be a mix of larger pine and deciduous trees. Also, that placement of a berm along the south side would serve no purpose because the lot slopes to the south and this would probably cause some drainage problems. However, UPA would not oppose some sort of screening along the south perimeter. Mr. 0strom stated that UPA would agree to Planning & Zoning Commission/October 4, 1988 Page 6 of 8
