<br />A roll call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />Councilmember Tossey aye <br />Councilmember Riley aye <br />Councilmember Kuzma aye <br />Councilmember Johns aye <br />Councilmember LeTourneau aye <br />Councilmember Backous absent <br />Mayor Strommen aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />7.07: Approve Adjacent Jurisdictional Review of a Comprehensive Plan Amendment for <br />the Establishment of a Future Business Park West of Armstrong Boulevard <br /> <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reviewed the staff report and extensive work of the <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) and Planning Commission along with staff to identify <br />an area for a future business park to create the opportunity for growth and expansion of existing <br />business. <br />Metropolitan Council that the City should work off its revised housing unit forecast. Therefore, <br />staff recommended tabling consideration at this time. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kuzma, seconded by Councilmember Tossey, to table consideration <br />of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to establish a new, future business park to allow time for <br /> <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Kuzma, Tossey, Johns, <br />LeTourneau, and Riley. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Backous. <br />7.08: <br />Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) Rulemaking Project and Consider Official <br />Response <br /> <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reviewed the staff report and recommended response <br />relating to <br />Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) rulemaking project that will apply to the entire MRCCA <br />corridor. He noted the Environmental Policy Board, at its August 4, 2014, meeting, <br />recommended the City adopt the Technical Standards section of the Official Response document <br />but deferred the six land use policy questions to the Planning Commission. Community <br />Development Director Gladhill presented the proposed standards and stated the key question is <br />whether it was appropriate for the Mn/DNR to establish minimum standards that apply to the <br />entire MRCCA corridor in order to create a consistent and uniform enforcement along the <br />corridor for the purposes of protecting the key resources identified in the Statute and Legislative <br />Rulemaking Direction. <br /> <br />City Council / August 11, 2014 <br />Page 10 of 13 <br /> <br />
