Mr. Mevisson stated that regarding construction of volley ball
courts and horseshoe pits at Central Park, Mayor Gamec and the
Ramsey Lions Club are working on this. Installation of a bike
rack would have to be planned for next year. Construction of
more picnic tables would also have to be planned for next year,
but Mr. Mevisson will try and find a couple of picnic tables
that are not being used at other parks in the City. Mr. Mevisson
stated that he would check the budget to see if there are funds
available for the construction of grills. Regarding a bike path
along 161st and County Road #83, Mr. Mevisson stated he is
prohibited from doing any construction because it is a County
road. Mr. Mevisson stated that he would try and find a Scout
troop available for transplanking Pine' seedlings along 161st.

Chairman Donovan noted that Council has authorized the purchase
of a creative play center for use at Central Park.

Ms. Beyer brought up the subject of bleachers and stated that
$2100 of the $6000 revenue sharing money was designated for
bleachers and if it is not used for bleachers, another public
hearing will be required to reallocate that money to another
use. Ms. Beyer stated that Councilmember Van Wagner made the
motion to spend $2100 on a creative play center assuming that
the money was carried over from the 1983 budget and it was not.

Chairman Donovan stated that there are some bleachers at the
Ramsey fields that were donated by the Ramsey Lions and are
not being used extensively at that site.

Commission consensus was that if the Ramsey Lions have no
objections, Mr. Mevisson should make arrangements to have a
couple of the bleachers at Ramsey field transferred to Central
Park.

Commissioner Lichter inquired as to the status of "White Pines
Park" and stated that the City should be compensated for that
property and that money should be put back into the City's
Park fund.

Ms. Beyer stated that Council has not acted on ".White Pines
Park" other than to conduct a public hearing regarding vacating
that property.

Chairman Donovan stated that if the City approves turning that
park land over, they better make sure that the costs are in line
to assure that the general public can afford to enjoy that golf
course.

Commissioner Hetland stated that he is sure past Park minutes
will show that the Park Commission recommended deeding that
park land over in exchange for assurance that it would be a
municipal golf course.

Commissioner Lichter stated that if Council has not acted on
"White Pines Park" yet, it is not too late for the Park
Commission to change it's recommendation.

P & R/June 27, 1984.
Pame 3 of 4
