Regular Charter Commission meeting minutes dated April 12, 1984. <br /> <br />PARK COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Quad Cit~ Park Re~ort: <br /> <br />Refer to Page 4, Paragraph 9 of these minutes. <br /> <br />Case #2: Representative From RYAA To Address Erlk Hagen Memorial Fund: <br /> <br />Refer to Page 3, Paragraph 1 of these minutes. <br /> <br />Case #3: LAWCON Grant: <br /> <br />Refer to Page 2, Paragraph 13 of these minutes. <br /> <br />Case ~4: .Representative From Cross Of Hope To Discuss Ballfields With Park <br /> <br />Board: <br /> <br />Mr. A1 Steinbrecher, representing the Anoka County Branch of the Lutheran <br />Brotherhood was present regarding the development of ballfields at the <br />Cross of Hope Lutheran Church in Ramsey. Mr. Steinbrecher stated that <br />Cross of Hope is located on 10 acres of land and is currently utilizing <br />less than 2 acres. Lutheran Brotherhood is proposing to develop 4 ballfields <br />at this location, contingent upon the City matching Lutheran Brotherhood <br />donated dollars either through a donation or by some type of community fund <br />raiser. Lutheran Brotherhood is prepared to donate up to $12,600 towards <br />the development of those fields. Conditions of the development of those <br />fields would be that Cross of Hope would be harmless from liability, that <br />the City would provide maintenance of those ballfields and that the ballfields <br />would be available for public use. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Lokker and seconded by Commissioner Hetland to endorse <br />the Lutheran Brotherhood proposal for a joint effort with the Community of <br />Ramsey towards the development of ballfields at the Cross of Hope Lutheran <br />Church property and to request that City Council authorize the City Engineer <br />to review the subject property in order to come up with an estimated cost <br />to develop these ballfields at Cross of Hope. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Donovan, Commissioners Hetland, <br />Lokker and Lichter. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Rustad, <br />Johnson and McLean. <br /> <br />Case ~3: LAWCON Grant: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Lichter and seconded by Commissioner Lokker requesting <br />the City Administrator pursue a LAWCON Grant for the following: <br /> <br />Development of a portion of Cross of Hope'property into ballfields <br />to be used by the communities of Oak Grove, Burns, Andover and <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />b. Lighting at Central Park and other items as grant acceptable. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Donovan, Commissioners Hetland, <br />Lokker and Lichter. Voting No: None.
