COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 Operating of a Flea Market in a B-1 Zoned Area, Request For; Case <br /> of Mir. Jerry McGregor, 6845 West Hi/ghway #..10 <br /> <br />Mr. McGregor was present at the meeting and informed the Council that he <br />would like to operate a flea market one day a week (Thursdays) on his <br />property. <br /> <br />Council had no objections at this point. <br /> <br />Case #2 Separation of Parcel of Land by County Road Regarding If It Would <br /> Be Considered Two Separate Parcels of Record: <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Hendrickson was present at the meeting. His property was split <br />by County Rd. #56, and he would like the parcel on the west side of #56 <br />treated as a separate parcel of record. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />adopt Resolution #82-12 stating that parcel of land (Plat 89222, Parcel <br />3~00) located on the west side of Cty. Rd. #56 be declared a parcel of <br />record, existing prior to April, 1972, due to a separation from the main <br />parcel by Anoka County at the time County Road #56 (Ramsey Blvd.) was <br />cons tructed. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor GAmac, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3 Amending of Chapter 170.01 of the City_ Code Regar~in_g House Size, <br /> Request For; Case of Best Homes: <br /> <br />Mr. Phil Bestwas present at the meeting and requested that City Council <br />consider amending the house size ordinance to reduce the present requirements <br />for split entry or split foyer type houses. He stated that it would <br />bring the cost of construction down and more people could afford to build <br />in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he prefers to leave the house size ordinance as is. <br /> <br />Councilmanber Cox stated that the City of Rmnsey could not afford the <br />increased cost of public services to residents if there was an increase <br />in population. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg feels the City has no business telling peoplewhat <br />size home they have to build, but he is also not ready to put it in writing. <br /> <br />Phil Best stated that Council was elected to represent the homeowners and <br />that this request comes from hopeful homeowners. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that there is a high cost of living in the City of Ramsey, <br />and first-time homeowners should probably not build in Ramsey. Most Ramsey <br />residents are second and third time homeowners. <br /> <br />MISC~.IANEOUS <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that barrack-type housing moved in by Tom Holker <br />should be removed from the City within a couple of weeks. <br /> <br />C/February 22, 1982 <br />Page 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
