Mr. Pittman also stated that he is in favor of placing the road on true center
and getting rid of any trees that might obstruct drainage ditches.

Mr. Vereecken - 14513 Bowers Drive - The City has the right to make certain
adjustments and should use this right when it comes to deciding which trees
stay and which go.

Nancy Felknor - 14520 Bowers Drive - We also own Lot 13 and how will the
proposed placement of drainage ditch affect the buildability of that lot?

Mr. Raatikka - City will obtain a 10' easement.

Mrs. Felknor - Does the City have that right?

Mr. Raatikka - Yes. The City will contact you with what they think is a fair
price for the land.

Mr. Goodrich - City will try to reach some type of agreement with property
owner. If the owner is not satisfied, they may take the matter to jury if
they wish.

John Mueller - 14633 Bowers Drive - I have been opposed to this prOposed
street improvement for a long time. Excessive speed is causing the dust
problem. Lack of vegatative protection adds to the dust problem. The
school buses travel this area at an excessive speed. Once the roads are
blacktopped the speed will come up another 5-10 mph. We moved to this
area to be in the country and get away from blacktop and street lights.

Lisa Helfricht - 14500 Bowers Drive - I have watched the school buses and
they do not travel the area at an excessive speed. The dust is so bad I
can't even open my windows and I live 200' off the road. The road is not
safe in winter.

Craig Woods - 14610 Bowers Drive - I have been appointed representative
for residents in favor of blacktopping this area. Mr. Woods then proceeded
to read the following statement:

"In order to keep this commentary from becoming overly entusiastic or too
emotional while discussing this project which means so much to all of us,
we have decided to keep it as simplistic as possible. To achieve this end
you will find in the analysis you were handed at the doors that everything
is in point form, under definite sections. When I have covered all of
these, if you have any questions pliase just refer to the section it
applies to. We will try to explain the facts and our feeling in direct
reference to your question.

1. Health

Ao

Needless to say our major complaint is the dust that lies so
consistently on our road. Breathing this dust has caused some
very miserable conditions for most of our residents. The constant
intake of dust into the lungs over any length of time has been
proven to be one of the major reasons of such diseases as asthma
and respiratory allergies. This of course includes anyone with a
cardiac condition of any kind.

Sp C/May 17, 1982
Public Hearing
Page 2
