Councilmember Reimann suggested that Mr. Bacon meet with Mr. Schnelle and Mr. Berg <br />and through them, possibly he could get some help from C.E.T.A. (Comprehensive <br />Employment and Training). <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox suggested that the matter of diseased trees be addressed in <br />the next City Newsletter. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner mentioned that Mr. Bacon is referred to in the next <br />Newsletter to be issued. She also stated that space will be set aside for <br />Mr. Bacon and his display at the Ramsey Municipal Center Open House. <br /> <br />STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />a) City Administrator - Mr. Schnelle reviewed his report with the Council. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />City Building Official - Mr. Berg reviewed his report with the Council. <br />Mr. Berg also questionned the need for contractors to be bonded and <br />stated that it is basically an unnecessary expense for the contractor <br />and to eliminate the requirement of bonding would require a change in <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />amend Paragraph 130.0110 of City Code for 0130.01 which requires <br />contractors to have a $2000 bond to perform work in the City of Ramsey. <br />Ordinance #82-11. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Cox, Sorteberg, Reimann and <br />Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />c) City Assessor - Council noted City Assessor's report. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />direct City Staff to forward a letter to the County to request that <br />previous year's market value be noted on Market Evaluation Card. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and <br />Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann informed audience that the Board of Review will <br />be held at Ramsey Municipal Center, June 1, 1982, at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />d) Chief of Police - Council noted. <br /> <br />e) City Engineer - Mr. Raatikka reviewed his report with the Council, <br /> especially items regarding 1982 sealcoating and Rum River Bridge Crossing. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />direct City Staff to forward a letter to Mr. Ed Fields, Anoka County <br />Commissioner, requesting that a meeting be arranged between County Staff <br />and City of Ramsey regarding the following: Landfill, Rum River Bridge <br />Crossing and Tax Laws. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and <br />Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />f) <br /> <br />City Attorney - Copies of "Proposed Assessment Agreement Between City of <br />Ramsey and Westphal Construction", drawn up by City Attorney Goodrich, <br />were distributed to members of the Council. <br /> <br />C/May 25, 1982 <br /> Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
