Case ~8: Public Hearing Regarding Mobile Home Ordinance: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmen%her $orteberg to <br />hold a public hearing at the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for July 27, 1982, <br />regarding Mobile Home Ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann <br />and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that he may be absent for the July 27, 1982 meeting. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted that a change in zoning ordinance requires a 4/5 vote, <br />therefore, all other members of Council must be present, and if the zoning ordinance <br />is to be amended, it must be before August 1, 1982. <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich gave a verbal update of the landfill situation to Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that Ramsey has been going around on this issue since the <br />fall of 1981 and to this point, has made no progress. That there are many questions <br />that should be answered before Ramsey can take a stand on the landfill issue. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle, City Attorney Goodrich and Council then discussed various issues that <br />enter into the landfill matter. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to adopt Resolution <br />~82-102 to send a letter to the County in regards to addressing problems in regards <br />to the landfill, that we want answers to at a meeting here at the Ramsey City Hall. <br />Further, that same letter should be sent to the Metropolitan Council. Further, that <br />the City Attorney draft the above said letter to be sent to the above people and <br />government agencies and that copies of said letter be sent to the County Attorney <br />and Acting County Administrator. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann <br />and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Howard Carson ~ 154th and Kangaroo ~ Stated that the Metro Council would like to <br />hear from the City of Ramsey on their feelings on the landfill issue~ He further <br />stated that Anoka County's reason for increasing the'size of the landfill is to <br />eliminate the need for additional landfills. He went on to say that Ramsey is a <br />poor location for a landfill because of soil base, and this poor soil base could <br />allow for a pollutant water back~.up. <br /> <br />Council notes receiving Feasibility Report for Trunk Sanitary Sewer and Public Water <br />Facilities for the 1983 Urban Area dated July, 1982, from City Engineer Pete Raatikka. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Cox to adjourn the <br />special Council meeting, <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />and Van wagner~ <br /> <br />voting Yes: <br />voting No: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann <br />None. <br /> <br />The special Council Meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m. <br /> <br />Sp C/July 12, 1982 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
