Mr. Raatikka replied that the contractor will be penalized $200/day.

Don Hauck - 6500 170th Ave. N.W. - Not satisfied with road shoulder. I want
it done right if I am going to pay for it.

Mayor Gamec stated that there is a one year warranty on the work.

Terry Pederson - 17020 Yttrium - Stated that the contractor did a real fine
job on that road and complimented the City on getting it done even though
there are a couple of bad spots.

Duane Nelson - 16950 Yttrium - It does look nice, but there is no shoulder
and my ditch is all tore up and they installed the culvert incorrectly. This
assessment hearing is being conducted a month too soon.

Mayor Gamec replied that the City is trying to meet the assessment role
deadline and that Mr. Raatikka will inspect Mr. Nelson's ditch and culvert.

Councilmember Cox agreed that there is very little shoulder in that area.

George Fousek - 6541 169th Lane N.W. - Mr. Schnelle suggested that we survey
the road in front of our properties and if there is anything we would like'
to point out, that we should put it in writing. Mrs. Bonnie Pederson, who
initiated the petition for this street improvement project, should canvass
the neighborhood for complaints.and that way the City would have one concise
list of complaints.

Mrs. Bonnie Pederson was agreeable to that idea.

Mr. Raatikka replied that the City is aware of most complaints and that the
contractor will be assessed for not getting the project completed on time.

Mrs. Cich - 6440 170th Ave. N.W. - If after a year's time, more work is
required on the project, will the residents be assessed for that work?

Mayor Gamec stated that maintenance comes out of City General Fund, that the
residents will only be responsible for sealcoating.

Bonnie Pederson - 17020 Yttrium - Brought up the fact that if your taxes
are included in your house payment and are paid automatically by the mortgage
company, a person should be putting money aside to cover the increase in taxes
for the first six months, because the mortgage company is about 6 months
behind the tax roles.

Mrs. Cich - Can I pay the assessment in 5 years rather than 107

Mr. Raatikka stated that she could, but it has to be financed for 10 years.

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to
adjourn the public hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
Van Wagner and Reimann. Voting No: None.

Public hearing adjourned at 9:52 P.M.

Sp C/September 29, 1982
Public Hearing
Page 2
