46. Letter dated October 22, 1982 from Mayor Gamec to Mr. Edward Fields, Anoka
County Commissioner, regarding Ramsey/Anoka existing landfill and Anoka
County's proposed candidate landfill Site P.

47. Letter dated October 19, 1982 from Mr. Ben Deemer to the City of Ramsey
whereby the citizens residing in Pondvale Estates do not object to the
Ramsey City Council granting Mr. Deemer a one year extension for the
blacktopping of the streets in Pondvale.

48. Landfill costs.

Councilmember Cox noted Items #7 and #46 under Letters and Communications.
He further stated that Ramsey should get in writing from Metro Council, a
letter to the effect that they will review whatever the County presents.

Mayor Gamec stated that there is a Landfill meeting schedule for November 16,
1982.

Mayor Gamec also noted that there is a community Hazardous Waste Meeting at
Blaine Senior High School November 17, 1982.

Mayor Gamec then noted that there is a dinner scheduled for November 17, 1982
in honor of Mr. Ed Fields and that Ramsey City Council, Mr. Schnelle and
Mr. Goodrich should attend (spouses are also invited). Mayor Gamec noted
that this dinner for Ed Fields conflicts with the Waste Management meeting
and someone from Ramsey should attend the Waste Management meeting.

City Attorney Goodrich suggested that it might be possible to contact Waste
Management Committee and determine if the Waste Management community meeting
should be rescheduled because most officials in the County will be attending
the dinner for Mr. Ed Fields.

Motion by Councilmember V~n Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Cox directing
that the cost of tickets for Ramsey City COuncil Members, Mr. Goodrich and
Mr. Schnelle, to the Ed Fields dinner will be picked up by the City of Ramsey,
and further that spouses of the above may attend at their own expense.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann,
Cox and Van Wagner. Voting No: None.

Councilmember Cox stated that he has been approached by a citizen regarding
the inequities in fees charged for dumping at the landfill. He further
stated that contract haulers are charged a minimal fee and the resident in
Ramsey has to bear the brunt of it.

STAFF REPORTS

a.
