Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cox, <br />Sorteberg, Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that right now there are two parks going <br />into the City of Ramsey and has Council considered how much it <br />is going to maintain these parks? <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:12 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the Council meeting back to order at 9:27 P.M. <br /> <br />Legal Items (A. Howard's Special Assessment Appeal; <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />B. Menkveld Mobile Home Park Regarding Request For <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit): <br /> <br />a) Howard"s Special Assessment Appeal: <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich informed Council that the Howard's have <br />appealed the assessment, that he does not know when the hearing <br />date will be and it may be necessary to attain an appraiser on <br />behalf of the City to testify that the property is benefitted. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the Howard's assessment is consistent <br />with City's past policy regarding similar situations. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he agrees to some degree, but <br />that the road was put in by a developer and the Howard parcel <br />was not part of that development. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that there is no question that <br />the City should follow through with this matter, that the City <br />is being consistent. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember <br />Sorteberg to direct City Attorney to oppose the appeal and <br />further that the City Attorney accomplish whatever else he <br />determines legally necessary in this case. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers <br />Van t~agner, Reimann and Sorteberg: <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Sorteberg stated that the <br />parcel in question is large, a developer put in a road adjacent <br />to the parcel, it is a sort of land locked parcel, and how <br />would you subdivide the parcel without allowing a longer-than- <br />normal cul-de-sac? <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested a vote from Councilmember Cox, Council- <br />member Cox voted~"no'.'~ requested for-a :re$~tatement of the <br />motion, Council secretary did so and Councilmember Cox changed <br /> C/November 23,21982 Page 13 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
