Case #14: Purchase Of Radio For City Truck: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann <br />authorizing purchase of a 2-way radio from General Electric Company, through <br />Hennepin County Purchasing, in the amount of $613.00 to be used in the truck <br />recently purchased for the Streets Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #1: Amending Of Chapter 110.02 Entitled "Firearms" Of. The City Code: <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle noted that Police Chief Auspos, in his letter of October 21, 1983, <br />recommends the removal of Paragraph 110.025 entitled "Firing Ranges" and <br />110.028 entitled "Licenses to Carry Weapons" from City Code. This action <br />would eliminate weapons in Ramsey for hunting purposes. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that rural living includes hunting and the City should <br />try and allow it a little longer. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated she has received input from P&Z to the effect <br />that they would like to address this issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Schlueter to request input and recommendations from <br />Planning and Zoning Commission regarding Chapters 110.025 and 110.028 of <br />City Code. <br /> <br />Motion fails for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that P&Z does not handle Chapter 110. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the deer population in Ramsey presents potential <br />problems and the City should look at allowing bow and arrow hunting as a <br />way of thinning out the deer population. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Ordinance ~83-15 amending Chapter 110, Section 110.029 of City ~ode <br />to allow the uSe.of bow and arrow for hunting purposes in the City of Ramsey <br />and that the applicant must have written permission from the landholder to <br />hunt on that property. (Please refer to ordinance file for Ordinance 983-15). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that dan take it upon themselves to review Sections <br />110.025 and 110.028 and report back to council with any recommendations. <br /> <br />Case #2: Workers' Compensation Regarding Car Pooling: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg stating <br />that the City of Ramsey elects to exclude coverage under ou~ workers' compensation <br />insurance for employees while participating in rideshar~ng arrangements~ <br /> <br />Motion carried.
