Susan Beale - 14851 Sunfish Blvd. - Stated that she moved to Ramsey for rural <br />atmosphere and wildflowers. <br /> <br />Arvin Wendt - Stated he received a letter from City authorizing him to cut his <br />weeds and he doesn't have any, but that he does have some sumac on his property <br />which he cut down to the bare sand and that will bring on the sand burrs. <br /> <br />Bonnie Robertson - 158th and Radium - Stated that per the City's direction she <br />cut down her wild roses, wild grapevines and wild black respberries and as <br />a result the birds and squirrels have also left her property. Stated that she <br />moved here for the country atmosphere. She noted that the weeds they are being <br />forced to cut down are pretty and a person would have to pay a good price to <br />buy them at a craft shop. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the ordinance will be reviewed by P&Z and concerned <br />citizens should attend that meeting and provide their input, and that Council <br />agrees that this ordinance was a mistake. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner noted that the next meeting of P&Z is August 2, 1983 <br />at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Terry Petro - Inquired as to what his direction is regarding the letter he <br />received from the City requesting that he cut down his growth. <br /> <br />Council consensus is that a moratorium be placed on the subject ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to place <br />a moratorium on Paragraph 110.143 of the City Code entitled "Growing Grass" <br />until further Council action. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />b) Appointing Of A Deputy Weed Inspector - <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />approve of adopting Resolution #83-123 appointing Mr. Bruce Bacon as Deputy <br />Weed Inspector for the City of Ramsey until further n~ice and to be paid at <br />the same rate as Tree Inspector. (Please refer to resolution file for <br />Resolution ~83-123). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner.
