Community Development <br /> Block Grant Funding): <br /> <br />a) Metro Census Report dated June 24, 1983 - Council noted. <br /> <br />b) Anoka County's letter dated July 7, 1983 regarding Community Development <br /> Block Grant Punding - Council noted receiving. <br /> <br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Landfill (A. Landfill Inspection Report For June 1983; B. Anoka <br />County's Letter To Waste Management Regarding Licensinq~ppr.oval): <br /> <br />a) Landfill Inspection Report for June 1983 - Council noted. <br /> <br />b) Anoka County's Letter dated June 29, 1983 to Waste Management regarding <br /> Licensing Approval - Council noted. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he is concerned with the $.50/yard override, that <br />it could slow up the process of getting this site filled and covered. <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that City of Anoka and Waste Management share <br />that concern and that in general it would make Anoka County uncompetitive, <br />which maybe would not be all bad. MayO~ Gamec requested that City Adminis- <br />trator Schnelle discuss this issue w~th County Commissioner Haas. <br /> <br />Case #11: Receivinq Bids On Street Improvement Project #83-15 (Beaudry's Second <br /> Addition And Hematite Street N-W): <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />adopt Resolution #83-124 accepting bids for Street Improvement Project #83-15 <br />(Beaudry's Second Addition and Hematite Street NW) and awarding bid to <br />Hardrives, Inc. in the amount of $66,191.00. (Please refer to resolution <br />file for Resolution #83-124). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Raduio Park Development: <br /> <br />Council noted letter dated June 23, 1983 from Alice E. Koehler, Acting County <br />Executive Director to Mr. Arnie Cox regarding variance on PIK acreage farmed <br />by Mr. Turnvall and letter dated July 20, 1983 from Terry Miller, Waste <br />Management Site Manager to Mr. Arnie Cox regarding development of recreational <br />area located at Highway #47 and the Rum River. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that a policy should be set regarding citizens donating <br />time, labor and equipment to City parks with regards to associated liabilities. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would like to continue to see citizen involvement <br />but that the liability aspect of donated park equipment should be reviewed. <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan stated that the same issue was brought up at the last Parks <br />and Recreation meeting, and the City must be sure that safe equipment is <br />donated. Mr. Donovan then stated verbally what the recommendation of the <br />Park Board will be and noted that this recommendation will be submitted in <br />writing to Council at their next meeting. Step 1: Approval of Park Board <br />for the donated equipment; Step 2: Equipment be inspected by City Engineer <br />and the City Public Works Dept; Step 3: City Council approval of donated <br />equipment. <br /> <br />C/July 26, 1983 <br /> Page 15 of 25 <br /> <br /> <br />
