MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Resolution Concerning Victory Sports <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated the City should send a message to Carl Pohlad that says they are <br />against what he is doing with cable and trying to get another $2.50 per household to watch their <br />local sports teams. They should get back to remembering it is about the game and kids being <br />able to watch the local sports teams. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained Victory Sports wants another $2.50 per subscriber <br />for Comcast to broadcast Victory Sports, and Comcast would like it to be part of their package. <br />They have not been able to come to an agreement. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to prepare a resolution for the next City Council <br />meeting stating the City is against the attempts of Victory Sports to acquire additional fees to <br />broadcast the local sport teams. <br /> <br />A resident stated he believes the City should not get involved in this deal with Comcast. <br /> <br />2) Joint City Council Meeting with Anoka <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired of the status of the joint agreement with the cities of Ramsey and <br />Anoka regarding regional road improvements. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied staff has not received the agreement yet. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak informed the Council that she, Councilmember Cook, Mayor Skogquist <br />of Anoka, and Councilmember Pierce of Anoka will be getting together with the group of <br />residents that had contacted her regarding traffic concerns. She will keep the Council updated. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig noted there may be a lot of people that would want to be involved in that <br />meeting. He suggested they announce a meeting for Highway 47 residents. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if a resolution has been drafted concerning fiscal <br />disparities, as was discussed at the joint Council meeting with the City of Anoka. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated this could be included on the City of Ramsey Policy <br />Positions for the 2004 Legislative Session. <br /> <br />3) Met Council Grant Agreement <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen inquired if there has been a response from the Met Council regarding <br />the Grant Agreement that was tabled at the last meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated he would forward this information to the Council. <br /> <br />City Council/March 9, 2004 <br /> Page 21 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
