70 <br />Water Supply Plan. Collaboration may reduce or eliminate contradictory regulations, may better <br />leverage program funds to support common goals, and coordinate guidance. The Council will review and comment on plans that include, but may not <br />be limited to: <br />• As required by Minnesota Statutes, local water supply, source water protection, surface water, <br />comprehensive sewer, and county groundwater plans <br />• As requested by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Groundwater Management <br />Areas and water appropriation permits <br />The Council's work to support water supply planning is guided by Minnesota statutes (473.1565), and <br />it supports the Council's policy on sustainable water supplies (Water Resources Policy Plan). <br />Through this process, which includes local planning assistance, local plans will be better coordinated <br />and will better incorporate water sustainability considerations in all areas of Council policy and <br />actions, including overall development patterns, water management, transportation, housing, and <br />regional parks.
