REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD Sept. 16, 197& The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr. Cox. Present were Mr. Nelson, Mr. Hopperstad, Mrs. Oliphant, Mr. Reimann, Mr. Goodrich and Mr. Steffens. The minutes of the last stated meeting were read by Mr. Nelson. Mrs. Oliphant wanted a correction to the minutes of the first paragraph. Mr. Reimann moved we accept the minutes as read. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. Treasurer's Report: Mrs. Kathleen Anderson, Treasurer, read the report. She said she would bring it in to the office a few days prior to the meetings so it could be mailed out to the Board Mem- bers, thus saving the time of reading the report at the meetings. Mr. Doroff, Tree and Weed Inspector: He gave a report on oak wilt and elm diseases, which is thru for this year. He said the State wants all dead trees cut down before April 15th of next year. He will give us a paragraph concerning this to be put in our forth- coming Newsletter. Park Board Report: This was given by Mrs. Schneider. The Park Board would like a list of the maintenance expenses for this year. They thanked Mr. Gary Reimann and the Town Board for the work that has been done in the parks this summer. They also thanked the Town Board for appointing Mr. Zobava to the Park Board per their recom- mendation. Mrs. Schneider attended a meeting for the Town Board at the City Hall in Anoka. The meeting was put on by the Metropolitan Council concerning the area along the Mississippi River. She gave a re- port on this meeting. At this meeting Anoka County stated when Ramsey Township is incorporated, the County will lose control over Ramsey Township and they wanted to know what control, the Metropol- itan Countil would have over Ramsey Township. She has a copy of the Citizens League minutes, if anyone wished to read them. She informed the meeting at the City Hall that Ramsey Township could not see any big rush about this matter because the land is being used by farmers and for homes and we don't feel the State or County should step in to put restrictions on this land at this time. There is one farm already on the river on which negotiations are going forward for a County Park. She will report on the Metropolitan recycling meeting which took place in that building in St. Paul, when she has received the minutes from the Metropolitan Council on this meeting. Carter Valley: Mr. Nelson read an excerpt relating to the Carter Valley plat from the Planning & Zoning minutes of Sept. 3rd. Mr. Neilson stated the position of the Carters on this plat. They will give 7% of the 6 lots they want to plat on Germanium Street. Mr. Cox read the following from the Nov. 21, 1973 minutes of the Anoka County Planning & Advisory Commission minutes "The prelimin- ary plat of Carter Valley, located in Section 12 of Ramsey Town- ship was erroneously approved at our last meeting.
