REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD <br /> Sept. 16, 197& <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman, <br />Mr. Cox. Present were Mr. Nelson, Mr. Hopperstad, Mrs. Oliphant, <br />Mr. Reimann, Mr. Goodrich and Mr. Steffens. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated meeting were read by Mr. Nelson. <br />Mrs. Oliphant wanted a correction to the minutes of the first <br />paragraph. Mr. Reimann moved we accept the minutes as read. <br />Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report: Mrs. Kathleen Anderson, Treasurer, read the <br />report. She said she would bring it in to the office a few days <br />prior to the meetings so it could be mailed out to the Board Mem- <br />bers, thus saving the time of reading the report at the meetings. <br /> <br />Mr. Doroff, Tree and Weed Inspector: He gave a report on oak wilt <br />and elm diseases, which is thru for this year. He said the State <br />wants all dead trees cut down before April 15th of next year. He <br />will give us a paragraph concerning this to be put in our forth- <br />coming Newsletter. <br /> <br />Park Board Report: This was given by Mrs. Schneider. The Park Board <br />would like a list of the maintenance expenses for this year. They <br />thanked Mr. Gary Reimann and the Town Board for the work that has <br />been done in the parks this summer. They also thanked the Town <br />Board for appointing Mr. Zobava to the Park Board per their recom- <br />mendation. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider attended a meeting for the Town Board at the City <br />Hall in Anoka. The meeting was put on by the Metropolitan Council <br />concerning the area along the Mississippi River. She gave a re- <br />port on this meeting. At this meeting Anoka County stated when <br />Ramsey Township is incorporated, the County will lose control over <br />Ramsey Township and they wanted to know what control, the Metropol- <br />itan Countil would have over Ramsey Township. She has a copy of <br />the Citizens League minutes, if anyone wished to read them. She <br />informed the meeting at the City Hall that Ramsey Township could <br />not see any big rush about this matter because the land is being <br />used by farmers and for homes and we don't feel the State or County <br />should step in to put restrictions on this land at this time. There <br />is one farm already on the river on which negotiations are going <br />forward for a County Park. She will report on the Metropolitan <br />recycling meeting which took place in that building in St. Paul, <br />when she has received the minutes from the Metropolitan Council <br />on this meeting. <br /> <br />Carter Valley: Mr. Nelson read an excerpt relating to the Carter <br />Valley plat from the Planning & Zoning minutes of Sept. 3rd. Mr. <br />Neilson stated the position of the Carters on this plat. They <br />will give 7% of the 6 lots they want to plat on Germanium Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox read the following from the Nov. 21, 1973 minutes of the <br />Anoka County Planning & Advisory Commission minutes "The prelimin- <br />ary plat of Carter Valley, located in Section 12 of Ramsey Town- <br />ship was erroneously approved at our last meeting.
