- 2- P.H.T.B.9/iO/~

Resident: He is not going to pay for something that won't last.

Mr. Cox: ~at do you recommend?
Answer: He doesn't know.

Mr. Fricke: The bigger the tires on the trucks the more gravel
they will kick off the road.

Resident: Drainage system has to be fixed first. No point in
gravelling these roads because he feels it wouldn't last.

Mrs. Oliphant: Mr. Fricke have you made an inspection of the
drainage in this plat?
Fricke: He said he had driven thru the area frequently but he
said the engineering costs would be very great to check the drain-
age system in the whole plat. Blacktop in a residential area
lasts about 10 years and then it has to be sealed every couple of
years.

Resident: %~at is estimate of blacktopping cost?
Fricke: About another $600 per lot, about three times the cost
of gravel.

Question: Can we get state aid to help on these streets?
Answer: It must be a collector street in order to get state aid~
carry more than local traffic.

Resident: Why not just fix up 'the bad spots on Ermine Blvd.?
Fricke: Doesn't last long to just fix spots. Every time it is
bladed it drags it along the road.

Mr. Cox: Let's have a showing of hands for those who prefer
blacktopping. Mr. Fricke said concrete is out of the question for
this type of street. We have bad clay and he said concrete is out
of the question, in this type of soil. We use the same specs.
the State Highway Department uses.

Mr. Cox: How many are in favor of going with Class V east of
Baugh Street as mentioned in the proposal? Answer was none.

Mr. Cox:

Mr. Cox:

How many west of Baugh Street? Answer none.

How many live east of Baugh Street? Answer 16.

Mr. Cox: How many live west of Baugh Street? Answer 10 present.

Mr. Cox: How many want to go with blacktop? Answer none.

Mr. Ron West: Ermine Blvd. needs a crown. Where there is a good
crown there are not trouble spots. He think fixing the crown is
the major problem.
