WORK MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD
Sept. 10, 1974

The meeting was called to order at 8:20 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr.
Cox. Present were Mr. Nelson, Mr. Hopperstad, Mrs. Oliphant, and
Mr. Reimann.

Mr. George Atwood, president of the Anoka Historical Society was
present. He said they had gone out to inspect the cemetary by the
airport last Wednesday. He thinks it would cost about $1,000 to
clean it up, put in a fence around the cemetary and put up a gate.
He called the State Historical Society. They said we should find
out if there are any living relatives in the area. One of the first
settlers was a Pittman in 1ESO. He cleared the first six acres of
land around here. If there are not any relatives, then they could
go ahead. Next we should go to tlhe County to see if they are inter-
ested. Then we would be stopped at this point. Mr. Bonnell said he
thought there should be a motion from the Board stating whether
they are interested in preserving this cementary. They also feel
they should have.eome access to this cemetary, 300 to 400 feet, with-
out going on private property.

Mr. Reimann moved we are interested in preserving this cementary
and that we should get a cartway or driveway into it and get per-
mission from Anoka County Historical Soeiety to assume the mainten-
ance and care of this cemetary. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. The
motion was carried. This cemetary is in Section No. 27.

Brookview Estates Residents: A petition was received from these
residents who do not want additional traffic from the Carter Valley
Plat on the roads in Brookview Estates Addition. These roads were
not built to take any additional traffic especially the corner of
Germanium and 170th Lane. They are very concerned and feel these
roads should be blacktopped. They would like the road closed from
Germanium and 172nd on the north to 17Oth and Helium on the south.
They feel the southern four lots in the proposed Carter Valley
Plat would make a very useable addition to the present park in
Brookview Estates. Mr. Gray of Brookview Estates was present con-
cerning his lot. They were all concerned about the safety of their
children walking along the road to the park.

Mr. Goodrich discussed the special use permit given to Mr. Menkveld
a long time ago and showed a copy to the Board. Mr. Hopperstad
asked whether Mr. Menkveld had permits from the Pollution Control
Agency and the Minnesota Health Department. Mr. Nelson read the
contract between the Township and Mr. Menkveld on the sewage sys-
tem for the proposed mobile home park.

Mr. Goodrich stated he had received a copy of the order on incor-
poration and gave information on the dates for filing for offices
for a mayor for two years and councilmen for two and four years.
Clerk and Treasurer are appointed.
