REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD <br /> August 19, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman, <br />Mr. Cox. Present were Mr. Hopperstad, Mr. Nelson, Mr. Reimann, <br />and Attorney Goodrich. There was a question by the Board Chair- <br />man as to the absence of the fifth member of the Board. He stated <br />that this has been a reoccurring situation recently and the Board <br />Member has missed several meetings since the recent election. He <br />wondered if the rest of the Board felt some action should be taken <br />and to give it some thought. The Chairman asked the other members <br />of the Board what their feelings were and they indicated they con- <br />curred. No further action was taken at this meeting. <br /> <br />The first order of business was opening the bids for lO,O00 yards <br />of Class V gravel. First bid was from Barton Contracting Co. of <br />Osseo. Bond was enclosed with the bid. Second bid was from H & <br />S Asphalt Co.. Bid was accompanied with a bond. Discussion on <br />these bids. Mr. Hopperstad moved we accept the gravel bid based <br />on the Township Engineer's advice and the lowest responsible bid. <br />Seconded by Mr. Reimann. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Bids for seal coat were opened next. First one was from Allied <br />Blacktop for ~,000 sq. yards total .ling $11,~O. Second bid was <br />from Batzer Construction Co. for $5,389.' Mr. Reimann moved we <br />accept the bid from Batzer Construction Co. if they will furnish <br />a performance bond. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br />We will find out when he can do this work. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated meeting were read by Mr. Hopperstad. <br />Mr. Nelson moved we accept the minutes as read. Seconded by Mr. <br />Reimann. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Treasurer's report was given by Kathleen Anderson. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission were read~byMr. <br />Reimann. <br /> <br />Mr. Lahn: He stated Mr. Pittman had been very cooperative. He <br />has one thing left to do. He is going to put in another tank and <br />try to get it in by September 1st. He presented another letter <br />from the Anoka County Board of Health with 14 violations of the <br />code according to them. They feel that system was inadequate for <br />a one bedroom house under the most favorable conditions. Mr. Lahn <br />said he was laying the facts at the doorstep of the Town Board. <br />Mr. Cox read the items from the Weaver, Talle and Herrick bill re- <br />garding time spent on Mr. Lahn and they added up to a considerable <br />sum. He stated we should indicate to Mr. Lahn that from here on <br />any further expenses incurred for him with the attorney will be <br />charged to Mr. Lahn. Mr. Pittman stated that he was following <br />the Township regulations when this sewage system was installed. <br />It was stated that any further calls or correspondence from here <br />on for Mr. Lahn will be with our attorney. <br /> <br /> <br />
