Mr. Mike Auspos, Constable, introduced our two new police officers, Mr. Robert Hansel and Mr. David Gustafson. The attorney asked about qualifications for police school. Police have one year to be regis- tered. The BCA School is too busy to handle part time policemen, which is what Ramsey Township has at this time so they would have to wait. Mr. Cox said he was very happy in the way ~r. Hansel and Mr. Gustafson had handled an accident that had occurred in his area. The County car came about a half hour after the accident. He com- plimented our police force and said he was pleased with the work they were doing. Mr. Auspos said they were trying to give as much time as they could to this job. He also said the new dispatcher system is working out very well. They are working 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. week nights and 7:00 to 3:00 a.m. week ends. Mr. Steffens: He was asked how much studying he would need before there will be performance? He answered it would take one month to review what is going on. If there are specific problems, he could check them out. It depends on the basis on which he is hired. He would attend all of our legal meetings at first and then attend as requested. Mr. Reimann asked if we were to hire his services if we would have to hire him under these terms. Mr. Goodrich said we would enter into a contract with Mr. Steffens. Any changes in the contract should be made beforehand. Mr. Hopperstad does not feel we should make decisions for another board that is coming in with- in another three months. Mr. Steffens contract can be terminated in thirty days. This contract would be forty hours per month maxi- mum. Mr. Nelson moved we enter into this agreement with Mr. Bernie Steffens as of August 20, 197~. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad if we have control over the hours. Mr. Steffens would be called an ad- ministrative consultant. Motion carried. The Town Board and the Planning and Zoning commission will meet with Mr. Steffens at the Town Hall at a public meeting at 7:00 p.m. on August 27, 197&. This meeting will be published in the legals in the Union. Rodeo Hills Roads: Today some of the culverts are still half full of dirt. Mr. Hall had stated he would have the culverts cleaned out and the seeding had already been done. Mr. Cox brought a large assortment of weeds which he had just picked out of a ditch in this plat. Because the ditches were not seeded the culverts are filling up again. Mr. Reimann feels if Mr. Hall said the work had been done that someone is not doing the job for him. Mr. Nelson moved we ac- tivate the bond and have the work done. Seconded by Mr. Hopper- stad. Motion carried. Mr. Mevissen was asked to check the sign by the church parking lot in Dover's Acres to be sure it was in the right location. Merle and Jerry will take care of this matter. Discussion on hole on 151st Lane N.W. Mr. Goodrich will take care of sending the order to fill this hole.
