- ~ - C.M.7/31/7~

Hutchinson: Draft a resolution here. Have Bill Hawkins draft a
resolution for the four communities he represents and mail it.

Christenson: What is the difference between the result of a mor-
atorium and the result of a managed growth plan?

Minder: The setting of a 20 acre minimum would be a morator-
ium on growth. It growth beneficial or should it be managed?
Unmanaged growth can be chaos.

John Jonas, Burns: All we do in a comprehensive plan is to push
the problem out of our Township and into someone else's. He does
not feel this is acting responsibly.

John Clawson: He is working on a land use policy statement for
the next season of the legislature, (DFL representative candidate)
to discuss this land use and the"passing of the buck". He feels
we have only scratched the surface of this matter. Looks as if
population would be doubling in 35 years. May not be able to
afford such luxurious land use.

John Jonas: Rather than take growth out of your area, do the
best you can in your own area. They can require larger lots,
if necessary.

Christenson: They are providing a place for development that
can take place.

Minder: They feel 2½ acres will prevent sewer necessity.

Holasek: Economics: 100 families on 2½ acre lots would be us-
ing up about 250 acres of valuable land. 20 acres is not good.

Cox: Take note of number of people perhousehold.
in Ramsey.

Ours is three

Barton, MC: 3.6 now is 3.2 people per family.

Minder: We cannot rubber stamp our problems.

Barton: What will the soil bear in the way of sewer systems?
Where are your communities going as far as growth is concerned?
Where will these communities be in 5 years time financially?

Jaworski: MC may be looking at a larger area such as l0 to 12
counties.

Knutson: Possibly people are interested enough now to have group
meetings from these seven township areas. They had one meeting
about police protection. No good decision is made after eleven
p.m. He feels everybody that is elected or appointed should be
invited.
