REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD <br /> June 17, <br /> <br />The meeting was ca~led ~o order by the Chairman, Mr. Cox, at 8:00 <br />p.m. Present were Mr. Nelson-, Mr. Hopperstad, Mrs. Oliphant, Mr. <br />Peterson, Clerk and Attorney Goodrich. <br /> <br />The Treasurer's repo~c was given by the Treasurer, Mrs. Anderson. <br />Copies were given to the Board members. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated meeting were read by Mrs. Oliph~nt. <br />Addition to the minutes: "In reply to this Mr. Lahn would like to <br />remind us that at the last meeting he stated that he had written <br />the township attorney stating that he had been unsuccessful in ob- <br />taining the referenced ordinances and lot plan and requested that he <br />forward requested information to him without referal to <br />. Mr. Lahn thought he made it ver~'c'lea~"~hgt he felt <br />rem was__putnot in according to code and asked that <br />the letter of May 20, IgTA, from the Anoka County Board of Health <br />be entered to support this." <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson moved we accept the minutes with.the foregoing additions. <br />Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Chairman stated this meeting will adjourn at 10:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated Planning and Zoning Commission meet- <br />ing were read by the Chairman, Mr. Reimann. <br /> <br />We can transfer lands before the County Board between Ramsey and <br />Grow Townships. It will take 20 legal residents of both Townships <br />to initiate such a transfer. <br /> <br />Anoka Fire Contract~ Anoka is unwilling to make any changes in the <br /> <br />contract except for calling in of other fire departments. They <br />said the $1900 is f~r.the investment and upkeep of the fire fighting <br /> <br />equipment. Mr. Hopperstad moved we accept the contract with these <br />two paragraphs deleted. Seconded by Mr. Nelson. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Airport Zoning: The Planning and Zoning Commission did send recom- <br />mendations to the Town Board as required. Our attorney wrote to <br />the Attorney General. He indicated it was legal for us to zone <br />for the airport. If we zoned other people's land, we would have <br />to pay for the land. We could have another public hearing to see <br />how the residents feel about this matter. We could also have some <br />people here from the Metropolitan Airport Commission. Mr. Jack <br />Menkveld said the airport has had an opportunity to purchase some <br />of this adjoining property. If it was for the benefit of the citi- <br />zens, then the citizens could be charged for it but this would have <br />to be proved. We willwrite a letter to Greenbergwith a copy to <br />Mr. Johnson ~d the Rsngers as to what our motion was and that <br />their permission will not be honored unless these bills are paid. <br />Mr. Goodrich will check out with the airport if they are going to <br />pay these bills. <br /> <br /> <br />
