- 3 - G.&R. 5/30/74

Another vote was taken of the people living in the area in question.
Most of them voted to change but they were unhappy about it and the
only reason for changing was that they would rather bein Grow than
be taken over by the City of Anoka. It was a sad affair.

Mr. Schneider said he would entertain a motion to accept the direc-
tion of the MMC to change the area in Ramsey lying east of the Rum
River to Grow And the area west of the Rum River now in Grow to
Ramsey Township. Mr. Cox explained to the people present that if
we do not make this change the MMC has indicated they will deny the
incorporation of Ramsey and Grow Townships and the result of that
would be Anoka grabbing off land as it is developed and becomes of
value for tax purposes. Anoka calls it "orderly annexation." We
do not have any choice. Therefore, Mr. Cox moved we change the
Boundary between Grow and Ramsey Township to be the Rum River. It
was seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. The vote was five yes and i no.

Any agreements on roads will be carried out by Grow Township accord-
ing to their Board. Mr. Holasek stated the two Boards had made a
previous agreement that the boundary would stay as it was due to
the wishes of the people living in that area.

There will be a joint meeting between Grow and Ramsey Townships to
discuss mutual problems on June 27th at 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Hopperstad moved the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Mrs. Oli-
phant. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:O5 p.m.

~ectfully su~mitted,
Deputy Clerk · //
