REGULAR MEETING OF POMPEY TOWN BOARD <br /> May 20, 197/~ <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p.m. by the Chairman, <br />Mr. Cox. Present were Mr. Nopperstad, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Nelson, <br />Mrs. Oliphant and Attorney Goodrich and Clerk. Mr. Peterson. <br /> <br />Mr. Hopperstad read the minutes of the last stated meeting. A <br />motion was made by Mr. Nelson to accept the minutes as read. <br /> <br />Seconded by Mr. Murphy. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report: The accounting books have not arrived as yet. <br />When they come they-will be set up by the auditor. <br /> <br />An Agreement for Joint Use of a 'Portion of the School Site in Ram- <br />Set Township was presented. It is for a duration of ten years and <br /> <br />can be extended at that time, by mutual-agreement. It~ill be <br />signed and returned to the School Board for their signature. - <br /> <br />On Muy 15th the area south of Industry Blvd. from the Rum River <br />to the original westerly boundary of Anoka.was annexed to the <br />City of Anoka, going south between Berg OilCo. and KovarManu- <br />facturing and down the westerly edge of the Marge's Trailer Court. <br /> <br />This Board is meeting, with Grow Township at.their hall tomorrow <br />evening to discuss the boundarybetween the two Townships. <br /> <br />The report from the Park Board was read by Mr. Moriar~y. <br /> <br />Discussion on taking commercial and industrial property off the <br />areas paying toward the park fund becausethis might have a ten- <br />tency to discourage the locatiQn of business in our connnunity.' <br /> <br />Mr. David Voit= Mr. &Mrs. Robinette, Mr. Voit, Mr. Sha and Mr. <br />Fricke were here discussing the matter of a'ten acre piece.of land <br /> <br />on the north side of l?3rd Avenue. Hr. ~rphymoved we accept this <br />variance with the requirement-of a 66 fo°t easement for the full' <br />width of the 660 feet gOing north along the east side of the pro- <br />perty from l?3rd Avenue north. It-will be assessed to the bene- <br />fitting property owners if ever developed. Seconded by Mr. Hop- <br />perstad. Motion vote was 2 for and 3 against. Motion was lost. <br /> <br />Mr. Marvin Luke: He was not here. Mr. Fricke described the sit- <br />uation on the Luke property as it was explained to himbyMrs. <br />Luke. The State Highway Department would not allow driveways to <br />come in off the highway. Mr. Fricke told her she would have to <br />build a town road. He said he felt the Lukes had now abandoned <br />this plan. <br /> <br />A public hearing on blacktopping 153rd Avenue will be explained <br />in the June Newsletter to people living in this area notifying <br />them about this matter. Mr. Sha and Mr. Fricke said the'cost es- <br />timate given us previously on this road will have to be brought <br />up to date because of the increase in costs. Any property that <br />would be benefittedwill be assessed for part of the cost. <br /> <br /> <br />
