SPECIAL MEETING OF R~MSEY TOWN BOARD
April 9, 197~

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Cox at 7:30
p.m. Present were Mr. Hopperstad, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Nelson, Mrs.
Oliphant, Mr. Reimann and Mr. Sha.

Mr. Sha stated that Grow was interested in cooperating with us
on road work. He said he would discuss this with Grow Township.
Roads jobs should either be on a bid basis or labor and material
for the year. We should have a right bid with the contractor be-
fore any work is done. We should decide very soon what roads we
want done this summer. One of the Board members will probably be
in charge of the roads and Consulting Engineers Diversified will
meet with them and the head of our highway department and give a
recommendation as to priority and what should be done this year.
To bid by the job is the most efficient. Mr. Sha left at this
point.

The Board will have work meetings on the Tuesday night prior to
the regular Board meeting.

Azurite and Highway No. 5: We received a letter from the County
Highway Department stating they did not feel they should be do-
ing anything about this approach of Azurite to County No. 5. They
stated our men on the highway department had agreed to the approach
as it is at present. When they discussed this with our highway
department they felt it was adequate but the To~ Board does not
feel this is adequate and something is going to have to be done
at this location. We will write a letter to the Highway Department
of the County regarding this matter.

Schedules: Each person on the Board will have their own depart-
ment to handle. We will continue in the same way as we have be-
fore and only the Chairman on the Board will go to or call the
attorney or the engineer. Therefore, if anyone otherwise on the
Board goes to the attorney or the engineer that person will be
billed for the call.

Jerry Hopperstad will take charge of the roads.
Kay Nelson will take charge of contact with the schools and parks.
Beverly Oliphant will contact the Metro Council, Transit Commission,
Sewer Board, etc. and will bring back the information to the Board.
Herb Murphy will take care of law enforcement and revenue sharing.

Mr. Murphy brought a map from the school showing the park area
planned for the new elementary school in our Tovmship. Mr. Nelson
was asked to discuss this park area with the school authorities
and then report back to the Town Board. The openess of the new
school was discussed.

Bernie Stephens has been involved in setting up governments. Per-
haps Grow Township would be interested in cooperating on such a
program.
