REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING <br /> March 18, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman, <br />Mr. Murphy. <br /> <br />Mr. James M. Peterson was s~rn in as Clerk for the ensuing two <br />years by Mr. Cox. Mr. Herbert Murphy, Mrs. Kay W. Nelson, and <br />Mrs. Beverly Oliphant were porn in as supervisors by Mr. Peter- <br />son; Mr. Murphy for three years, Mr. Nelson for two years and <br />Mrs. Oliphant for one year. Mrs. Kathleen Anderson was sworn in <br />by Mr. Peterson as Treasurer for the ensuing ~ year~. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox was elected Chairman for the ensuing year. <br /> <br />We will send a letter of thanks to our former Treasurer, who did <br />a very capable job for us. <br /> <br />Mr. Hopperstad read the minutes of the last stated meeting. Mr. <br />Murphy moved we accept the minutes as read. Seconded by Mr. Nel- <br />son. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report: Checking account at First National Bank is <br />$20,8~.18 and the State Bank is $3,892.06. We will call the in- <br />surance company to change the bond from Mr. Gorham to Mrs. Ander- <br />son. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann read the minutes of the last Planning and Zoning meet- <br />ing. The Planning & Zoning Commission will bring maps for the <br />proposed sites for another elementary school. <br /> <br />The Park Board report was given by Mrs. Schneider. The Park Board <br />wanted to know if the welder had been purchased but Mr. MevissQn <br />had said he did not weld and so it had not been purchased. How- <br />ever we will go ahead and get the welder. <br /> <br />There will be a moratorium on building in the Dickenson Addition <br />until some of the area can be rezoned back to residential. This <br />was an oversite for about 20 homes located on the Mississippi <br />River. We feel this area should be returned to residential. Mr. <br />Murphy moved we place a hold on any further commercial or-residen- <br />tial development in this area until part of the B-2 area is rezoned. <br />Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. This will include the area along the <br />Mississippi River to the proposed marina. Mr. Roger Dickenson <br />said when Mobil International was built they raised the level of <br />the land causing the drainage to run onto his land and into his <br />basement where he has antique cars. The Board will have the en- <br />gineer che~ out this matter. They asked who was going to pay for <br />the damage to the road caused by the trucks hauling material for <br />the two storage buildings going in on Rivlyn Street. The matter <br />of rezoning will come up before the Planning and Zoning meeting <br />on April 1st. The motion was carried. <br /> <br />Carson final plat: Deerwood: Mr. Murphy moved we accept Deer- <br />wood Plat as presented in its final form with an additional bond <br />of $15,OO0, making a total bonding of $30,000 and a successful <br />contract being entered into between the Township and Mr. Carson <br />on this plat. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
