- 2 -

Anoka Fire Contract: Mrs. Oliphant said she did not think we
were getting a very good contract from the City of Anoka. In
the contract it states that if the roads are bad they don't have
to come out. If there is a fire in the city of Anoka they will
go there. She said she had talked to the Anoka fire chief today
and he said he thought we could have a better contract. Mr. Hop-
perstad said he looked favorably on the Elk River contract be-
cause it is only $200 a year and the fire calls were $225 per hour.
Mr. Murphy moved we table this contract until next meeting and
ask Mrs. Oliphant and Mr. Goodrich to work out this problem.
Seconded by Mr. Nelson. Motion carried.

Thurston Plat: Bowers Mississippi Acres Third Addition: It has
16 acres with 10 lots. Mr. Murphy moved we accept Bowers Miss-
issippi Acres Third Addition final plat with the condition that
the $13,500 bond be delivered to us, a successful contract with
the Township and delivery of the deeds for the turn around on
Block2, lots 2, and Block 1, lot 8. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad.

Motion carried.

Mr. Allen Oman was present: He requested an artist's studio in
his home with never more than six students at any one time. Mr.
Hopperstad moved we grant Allen Oman permission to operate an
artist's studio in his home with never more than 6 students at
any one time. Mr. Murphy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Dog Clinic: Dr. Brune~conducted this clinic and Mr. Hopper-
stad said it was a great success. Dr. Brunell had two other
people with him so it was very well organized and moved along at
a good pace. There were 62 people here and, of course, more than
that number of dogs. The next clinic will be held here on June
15th. Problems with packs of dogs running loose in the Township
was discussed. Dr. Brunell said we must be very sure to dis-
tinguish between some neighborhood dogs getting together for
companionship and a pack of dogs running after deer and being a
danger to children. Dr. Brunell suggested we raise the pickup
charge from $5.00 to $10.00. He said this will help to cut down
on dogs running loose. It was suggested we talk to Mr. Walton
about building separate pens for the dogs and made removable so
they could be moved if we wished to do this. It is a concern of
many people that many dogs are running around loose without hav-
ing had rabies shots when there are so many rabid skunks around.
Mr. Nelson said he did not think patrolling would be an answer to
this problem. We will talk to Mr. Walton about the problems that
have been discussed tonight.

Mr. David Firchau: Request for a chicken house on a three cor-
nered piece of land on No. 5. Mr. Firchau was advised to take
this matter to the Planning & Zoning Commission on April lsto
Mr. Firchau said he would do this.

William Lyndsley and Mr. Alan Olson had requests in for variances.
They were not present. Mr. Murphy moved we table these variances
until next meeting. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried.
