ANNUAL MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWNSHIP <br /> <br />March 12, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m. by the Tovm Clerk, <br />Mr. Peterson. Mr. Peterson asked for nominations for moderator <br />for the meeting. Mr. Coe nominated Mr. Kay Nelson for moderator. <br />Seconded by Mr. Martin Gorham. Mr. Schuneman moved the nomina- <br />tions be closed. Seconded by Mr. Willis Coe. Mr. Nelson was <br />elected Chairman for the meeting by unanimous acclaim. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last annual meeting were read by the Clerk, <br />Mr. Peterson. Mr. Wesley Bulen moved the minutes be accepted as <br />read. Seconded by Mr. Coe. <br /> <br />The following budget was read for 1974-1975: <br /> <br />General <br />Road and Bridge <br />Fire <br />Machinery & Equipment <br />Revenue Sharing <br />Park Fund <br />Building Fund <br /> <br /> $20,500.00 <br /> 45,000.00 <br /> 6,000.00 <br /> 20,000.00 <br /> 10,000.00 <br /> 7,500.00 <br /> lq,O00.O0 <br />$119,000.00 <br /> <br />Last year's balance on hand was $97,854.95 <br />This year the balance on hand is $109,589.05 <br /> <br />Salaries recommended for the ensuing year were read by Mr. Nelson. <br />Mr. Nelson asked if there were any recommendations or suggestions <br />from the audience. Mr. Oliphant asked what the balances on hand <br />consisted of. He said he did not understand it. Mr. Hopperstad <br />explained this to him. Mr. Martin Gorham asked what part of the <br />budget is held in escrow for repair of buildings and machinery? <br />Is this money included in the balances on hand? Mr. Hopperstad <br />read the amounts of money and the funds in which they were placed. <br />Mr. Cox said these funds were earning money for us. Mr. Bulen: <br />Is the interest rate set at 6~or 6~. Answer: it varies. Mr. <br />Bulen moved that a building committee be appointed to plan for <br />building a town hall because of inflation, when the status as a <br />township or city has been determined. Mr. Coe seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Martin Gorham said $30,000 had been set aside for a new town <br />hall. Mrs. Virginia Nelson asked what had happened to this $30~000. <br /> <br />Mr. Larsen asked how they wanted to accept the budget, in total or <br />in pieces. Mr. Larsen moved that they accept the budget as pro- <br />posed. We will make 100 copies of the budget for next year's <br />meeting. Mr. Murphy had gone out and made copies of this year's <br />budget for the people present at this meeting. Mr. Carlton And- <br />erson seconded the Motion.
