REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY TOWN BOARD <br /> <br />February 19, 197~ <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman, <br />Mr. Murphy. Present were Mr. Cox, Mr. Hopperstad, Mr. Peterson, <br />and Mr. Goodrich. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated meeting were read by Mr. Cox. <br />Correction: Mr. Doesedel is from the Office of Economic Oppor- <br />tunity, not the Tec. Center. Also change in paragraph about <br />Metropolitan Transit Commission: We do not encourage lines com- <br />ing out here. Mr. Cox moved the minutes be accepted with these <br />corrections. Seconded by Mr. Murphy. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Murphy read the names of the people who had filed for the <br />Township offices for our election on March 12th. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann read the minu~s of the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />meeting. It was noted that the Carter plat brought up at the <br />Planning and Zoning meeting was only a sketch plan and not a pre- <br />liminary plat. <br /> <br />There was a continuance of airport zoning hearing on February llth. <br />The meeting started at 7:24 and adjourned at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Park Board report was given by the secretary, Mrs. Schneider. <br />She stated they had been notified that no help would be forth- <br />coming from the army engineers this summer due to the energy crisis. <br />They held an extra meeting this month on February 18th. She read <br />the minutes of this meeting also. <br /> <br />Mr. Auspos said he thought about 60 people attended the drug infor- <br />mation meeting. He would bring us information on what is termed <br />"Block Home Watch'. This is to be used by anyone in trouble, <br />especially children. This is a community involvement idea. A <br />dozen home owners in Whispering Pines Addition have gotten together <br />to organize for their protection. The Board encouraged Mr. Auspos <br />to go ahead with any of these idea. <br /> <br />The Board will take a request to the School Board to put a road <br />around the new elementary school for the police to use for patrol- <br />ling. <br /> <br />We may send information in the Newsletter about packs of dogs run- <br />ning loose in the Township. Mr. Auspos asked if the dog catcher <br />could be authorized to write out citations on dogs that had already <br />been picked up before. Mr. Goodrich said he was already authorized <br />to do this. The Town Board thanked Mr. Auspos for the fine job he <br />is doing as our part time policeman. <br /> <br />Mr. Chester of Insurance Center brought information on an insurance <br />program called the "Umbrella Package" which is used by most of our <br />surrounding Townships and municipalities.
