- P&Zl/7/?a

Question: What type of plans are there for the near future and
in the next four or five years? Mr. Menkveld answered that there
was no way of knowing this. They now have a license to operate
a 2500 foot runway. It is for light single engine and light to
medium size twins for six to eight passengers. No heavy trans-
ports and no jets~ as we know them toda~ are programmed to land
at this airport.

Mr. Rosen asked what the purpose of the proposed zoning ordinance
was now? and why? Answer: the purpose if twofold; to control
structures going in around the airport and after they go up to see
they meet regulations and will be feasible airport facilities.

The airport is operated in the same way that it has been. It
should not make 23 acres unuseable for Mr. Menkveld. One single
telephone pole put on the edge of the airfield would stop the air-
port. Mr. Rosen stated if the airport wants to use this property,
then they should buy it. The airport is a parking lot for air-
planes. Mr. Johnson stated that in paragraphD, of page 6 it
allows for a variance from this ordinance. If a variance is granted
it may require the airport to install and operate a light marker.

On Monday, February 11, 197~ this meeting will be continued at 7:00
p.m. The airport is to contact the surrounding people by the air-
port, who live within 300 feet, not later than lO days from tonight.
Mr. Rosen wanted more notices sent out. It was agreed to send the
notices to the people within 300 feet of the airport.

The hearing was recessed until Feb. llth at 7:00 p.m.~ at 8:30
p.m. this evening.

Deputy Clerk
