REGULAR MEETING OF R~SEY TOWN BOARD <br /> October 15, 1973 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Murphy, <br />at 8:00 p.m. Present were Mr. Cox, Mr. Hopperstad and Mr. <br />Peterson. Mr. Goodrich was absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Murphy read the minutes of the last stated meeting. Cor- <br />rection of minutes. Mr. Hopperstad had attended the meeting <br />of Chisago Township, not Chisago City. Mobile home ordinance <br />change was tabled. Mr. Cox moved the minutes be approved as <br />corrected. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission were read by <br />the Chairman, Mr. Reimann. <br /> <br />Treasurer's report was read by Mr. Hopperstad. Mr. Cox explained <br />the financial status of Ramsey Township to the people present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Jack Schneider read the park board report as Mr. Springer <br />had another meeting in South St. Paul and could not get back in <br />time for this meeting. She also gave a report on the meeting <br />she attended with the Minneapolis Citizens League concerning the <br />uses were planning for the Mississippi River. <br /> <br />The School Board paid $58,700 for the property bought from Mr. <br />Aydt for the new elementary school in our Township. Mr. Cox will <br />meet with the School Board about purchasing park land on the site <br />for the school. <br /> <br />Mr. Peltzer will sell the outlot next to Peltzer Park for $2,000. <br />The corner lot in this addition which we would like to have to <br />add to the park has been quoted at Sg,OO0 by the owner, Mr. Robert- <br />son. Mr. Cox moved that we purchase the outlot in the Peltzer <br />Addition at a price of $2,000 with the provision that he levels <br />off the ridges on the edge of the ponds as he has indicated he <br />would. Seconded by Mro Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox moved we appoint Jerry to go ahead and attempt to purchase <br />the corner lot which would be surrounded by park land, from Mr. <br />Robertson for the going price which has been indicated to us would <br />be $2500. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Murphy stated that Mr. John Hubbard from Sunfish Lake Blvd. <br />s~ted they were taking out playground equipment from some parks <br />in Minneapolis, which was in very good condition, and which we <br />could get for the cost of the metal. It was decided that Merle <br />should take the truck tomorrow to pick up this playground equip- <br />ment in the morning. Bill Springer might be able to go with Merle <br />at noon tomorrow. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox stated we should write a letter to the Minnesota National <br />Guard requesting their help in work on our parks because they have <br />heavy equipment and will do this sort of thing for communities <br />which are in need of this kind of help. We will do this in the <br />spring and get on their docket to get our playgrounds ready for <br />use° <br /> <br /> <br />
