The government pays 80 per cent of their
wages and the Town Board pays 20 per cent. We would
have to supply workmens compensation insurance.
Thestudent has to show that he has a definite financial
need. We would be required to keep his time and
submit it every two weeks to the Tee. School and they
would bill us monthly or quarterly. The 'Board would
prefer it on a quarterly basis. This program becomes
effective July 1st. We would probably need general
maintenance type of work. Center and the
Gateway North Industrial Airport (new name for
airport on Ramsey Blvd.) invited everyone to come out
to see the airport. There will be 3 hours and 45
minutes of uninterrupted air performance on two days
each. The FAA has safety precautions and regulations
to which they are conforming. They w9uld like to have
permission to close Highways 56 and 57 for the actual
timeof the air shows on each day. They have a 260 man
force who 'take care of this, parking, etc. Mr. Johnson
showed a 15 minute film on a Thunderbird per.
formance which was very exciting. They have made
· arrangement with the Minneapolis papers to carry
extensive coverage on this ShOW and they will have a
flyer campaign in which we were encouraged to
participate with material on our TownShip. They will
need a half mile of snow fence. This will provide a 1500
foot separation between the crowd and the per-
formance area. They would like to get a two day beer
license to be used'atthe airport proper for these two
days. This show will bring many new people to this
area. Ramsey TownShip has about 30 rolls of snow
fence at 50 feet per roll. They expect to park about.
10,000 cars.
Mr. Cox moved we give the approval for the beer"
license, provide whatever fencing we. have available
provided they put it up and replace it, and give ap-
proval for the temporary closing of Highways No. 56
and No. 57 for July 14th and 15th providing they have
the men to control the traffic for these periods.
Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Mr. Fleissner said this should be
studied very carefully before this zoning is agreed
upon. .
Mr. Hagel had requested a place on the agenda but
was not here.
Mr. Tooker will be meeting with the Planning and
Zoning Commission on May 31st and June 14th at 7:30
to go over the comprehensive Plan for the Township.
Mr. Murphy asked the other members on the Board
if they had any corrections or additions to the proposed
zoning code. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Mr. Neilson
requested that the A & R Development which has three
forties in the northwestern part of the Township would
Iiketo have two of these forties changed from a.l to r-l
before the new zoning ordinance is adopted. Mr. Cox moved we
commit 50 per cent or $2588 of revenue sharing for
police protection. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion
c;:arried.
Mr. Hopperstad moved we commit 50 per cent or
52589 to purchase equipment for our highway depart-
ment. Seconded by Mr. Cox. Motion carried.
Mr. Ed. The Board stated any calls made to
the TownShip Attorney would be at the expense of the
individual excepting for the Town Board, Planning &
Zoning Commission, Clerk, Treasurer, BUilding In.
spector and Highway Department. The survey on this
lot was made before the 200 foot frontage was required
but 40 feet had been sold off this lot. Mr. Cox moved this
matter be tabled until the next meeting. He does
not ha ve any f ire insurance on the barn that burned on
his property. Howe'ver, the Board did not feel that the
people in Ramsey Township should have to ,pay for his
fire because he did not carry fire issurance.
Mr. Menkveld will check up on the location of the fire
near h is property.
From the many complaints and questions we receive
about horses, it would seem. we might need some
direction on this matter. ft was decided to refer this
problem to a Horsemen's Council and see If they can
police this problem.
..Board of Review: About 20 problems were handled
that night. Only three had changes made.
Issuance of Variance Permits.
