REGULAR MEETING OF THE RAMSEY TOWN BOARD
April 16, 1973

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman,
Mr. Murphy. Present were Mr. Cox, Mr. Hopperstad, Mr. Peterson,
Mr. Roger Gorham and Mr. Munns, attorney in place of Mr. Good-
rich who is on vacation.

Mr. Dennis Anderson of Consulting Engineers Diversified, Inc.
brought the feasibility study on 153rd Ave. N.W.

The minutes of the last stated meeting were summarized by the
Chairman. The dates of the voter registration for the school
board election was changed by the Dist. to Apr. 20, 23, and 2~.
Page 1 "wreath~'instead of "trees" and "circus" instead of "car-
nival''. Mr. Goodrich has the fire contract and will bring it to
the next meeting. Mr. Hopperstad moved the minutes be accepted
as corrected. Seconded by Mr. Cox. Motion passed.

The minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission were summarized
by the Chairman, Mr. Reimann.

On the Park Board, Mr. Springer, the Chairman, reported that there
are three parks on the way to being ready for use. Brookview Park
has been brushed out. There will be tables and charcoal burners
there soon. Hunters Hill addition said they would bury the rub-
bish for us and make a ball park in their addition for which we
are most appreciative. We now have thirteen parks. Mr. Springer
will be meeting with the Lions Club of Ramsey to see if we can
get tables and burners from their fund. Mr. Springer said he would
also like to have signs for our parks so people will know where
they are. We will be needing some excavating equipment to use in
the park in the Peltzer Park. We will need a bulldozer or a shovel.
Mr. Cox recommended we get a dozer in there to do this work. Mr.
Ed. Klemish volunteered to do this at a later date.

Mr. Murphy said some changes had been made in the proposed zoning
map. It is being changed now by Mr. Tooker and a public hearing
on the proposed zoning code and map will be held in this hall on
April 23rd at 8:00 p.m.

Announcement: No further burning permits willbe issued until fur-
ther notice by the state because conditions are too dry and it is
too dangerous.

Mr. Goodrich was asked to check with the fire department about the
procedure to follow when cars are on fire on the highway and the
fire department is called. We have been stuck with the cost of
fire calls in such instances when the cars leave for parts known
or unknown and do not pay for the fire call. We have had five or
six such calls in the past 1½ years. Mr. Cox moved we contact
Elk River to get their fire contract and sign both Elk River and
Anoka fire contracts. Seconded by Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried.

Question: There was a fire on the Armstrong Ranch which has not
been paid. Should this be assessed against the property? Mr.
Peterson will bring all of the fire calls still unpaid to the next
Town Board meeting.

May 17, 1973 will be Board of Review at the Town Hall at 8:00 p.m.
