- 2 -

An apology was made to Mr. ~ by Mr. Scarborough for remarks
made by Mr. Skipton at the last meeting.

A vote was taken on a replacement for Mr. Skipton on the Planning
and Zoning Board. There were two votes for MW. Jerick and one vote
for Mr. Barstow. Mr. Scarborough moved Mr. Jerick be appointed to
the Planning and Zoning Commission. Seconded by Mr. Gorham~

Mr. Sc~rborough said the Metropolitan Council and the Metropolitan
Sewer Board predicted great growth for Ramsey Township in the near
future. By 1990 they felt it would be over lO0, O00. He has talked
to people in St. Paul and the County and there seems to be no doubt
in their minds that we will have this increase in population. He
feels we need a professional planner to help us plan wisely for
this increase. The City of Anoka is planning a service road in
connection with the Tec. School. Also Anoka plans to annex terri-
tory from Ramsey a little at ~ time. We need a professional plan-
ner to protect the interests and welfare of Ramsey Township. Mr.
Gesko has been contacting people on Hy. l0 about annexing to the
City of Anoka. It was suggested that we might go together with
Grow Township to hire a planner. Grow Township is applying for
~o~9~ation. We can get federal assistan~ealso on planning. Mr.
? ~m said he thought there would be tremendous growth in the next
two or three years in Ramsey Township. This is something we should
think about seriously. Since July 1st of this year we have issued
$1,077,000 in building permits. There is a possibility that in less
than two years, we will have a shopping center as large as Brook-
dale in our Township. It was stated that New Hope has had good
planning. Their taxes are reasonable.

It was stated that we need some new windows in the Town Hall and
we need to have storm windows fitted and put on. Mr. Scarborough
moved we get a price as to ~hat it is going to cost to do this work
and set a i imit of $100.00 for the present. Seconded by Mr. Got-
ham. .... .~

ROAD was approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
-- Mr. Clyde Russell's road.

Mr. Carling and Mr. Putz who live on Xkimo Street were present to
ask that the street they live on be maintained and plowed this
winter. This road should be deeded to the Township. The papers
on this road were given to the attorney to be checked out by him.
Mr. Scarborough moved that when the leg al papers have been com-
pleted on this road that then the township will accept it. Seconded
by Mr. Gotham.

Mr. Don Greenberg presented a petition with signatures of people in
business on Hy. l0 but some of them were not living in the Township,
therefore the petition was not legal. "It read" We, the under-
signed, being owners of property located along Hy. #10, do hereby
petition the Town Board of Ramsey Township for the purpose of re-
questing an amendment of the present mobile home ordinance to allow
mobile homes to be located on property being used for commercial
purposes, for the purpose of protecting said property from vandalism
and theft.~
