I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I Professional Personnel HAR]ANNE CURRY Professional qualifications Ms. Curry has an extensive background of twenty years in government policy development, holding elective and appointive positions. She served a four- year term on the Lakeville, Minnesota, City Council, where she introduced and implemented date processing, Planned Programmed Budgeting, a city debt service analysis, Management by Objectives, a community needs assessment, an updated comprehensive land use plan and floodplain management. She served as an elected officer on the national Board of Directors of the 23,000 member American Planning Association for three years, chaired the Governance Committee, and is currently chair of the Computer Fair Committee for the 1984 nations] conference. She is Past President of the Minnesota Plannin9 Association. Ms. Curry chaired the League of Minnesota Cities Land Use Co~ittee and served on the League's Budget and Finance Co~ittee working on Local Government Aid formula revision. She was appointed by the District Court, serving as Budget Chair on the Dakota Ceunty Government Study Commission to recommend policies for improving manage- ment and productivity in the fastest 9rowing suburban county in Minnesota. She also served as Action Chair, Council for Metropolitan Area Leagues of e~ Voters. Professionally, Ms. Curry's special interest is the facilitation of change, strategic planning and organizational development. Her management experience includes Executive Director of s non-profit social service agency followin9 an early career in social science research for a private foundation and in social work for the State of Minnesota Department of Corrections and Hennepin County. As an independent organizational development consultant, she assisted small businesses with strategic business plannin9 for new venture development. As Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Metropolitan Council of the seven- county Twin Cities Region, Ms. Curry introduced Quality Circles Management, developed a corporate outreach program to encourage public-private partner- ships between the Council and Fortune 500 corporations. She led a strategic planning effort amon9 middle managers to identify emergin9 regional issues, staffed the Governor's Rideshare Advisory Commission and organized the Metropolitan Rideshare Board, a public-private consortium. Ms. Curry received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the Universi- ty of Minnesota. Subsequent training includes graduate studies in business management from the University of Minnesota and the College of St. Thomas. Her professional affiliations include the North American Society of Corporate Planners, American Plsnnin9 Association, and Urban and Regional Information Services Association. A frequent seminar trainer for the University of Minnesota Department of Con- tinuing Education end Government Training Service, Hs.
