He served as Mayor and City Councilman in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, a large and rapidly growing northern suburb in the Twin Clties. He also served ss a Planning Commissioner, Charter Commission Chairman, Citizens Tax Study Committee Chairman, and as a member of the Governor's Loaned Execu- tive Program. In the field of Management Information Services, Mr. McC~uley has a wide range of technical and managerial experience in directing such activities as plan- ning, designing, controlling and implementing major information management systems. He has directed the design of systems for almost all major business functions: finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, Purchasing, Ac- counts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales, Sales Forecasting, Inventory and Manufacturin9. Coupled with this is Mr. McCeuley's experience in programming languages such as Basic and COBOL and his background in storage and retrieval techniques usin9 computer systems. As Manager of Planning and Administration for the Peavey Company, a large food and grain processor, he developed and installed s long-range strategic plan- ning process for M.I.S. (Management Information Services). In addition, he selected end installed a data bas~ mnagement system, provided staff education and training, developed department standards and procedures, and controlled the budget. At Hoerner-Waldorf Company, a nation-wide paper end paper products manufac- turer, Mr. McCauley held the position Manager of Systems and Programming. He directed the development of a highly successful nation-wide distributed data processing network. During the early phases of his career, Mr. McCauley was employed at Univac and Honeywell as a systems analyst and a project manager. His experience included leadership of project teams assigned to develop many successful business systems. Mr. McCauley is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He has prepared and conducted many workshops and seminars in continuing education, dealin9 with subjects such as Computer Concepts, Computer User Training, Systems Training and Technical Education. His background includes long-range planning,- dis- tributive processing and data base systems management training. Hr. Mcgauley is a member of the Association of Systems Managers.
