APPROVE 2003 FLINTWOOD TERRACE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS <br />AND 2004 OBSERVATION PIER <br /> By: Mark Riverblood, Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As part of the 2003, Parks Capital Improvements Program (CIP), irrigation and two shelters were <br />proposed for Flintwood Terrace Park. In late fall 2003, City Council authorized preparation of <br />specifications and the receipt of quotes and bids for the various elements of the project. This <br />work has been completed and this case will be requesting approval to complete the project. <br /> <br />The second element of the case is to approve the observation pier which is a proposed 2004 <br />for this same area. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Both of the above CIP worksheets are enclosed. The information below also references annual <br />maintenance costs: <br /> <br />Flintwood Terrace Park (Shelters and Irrigation) <br /> <br />This project entails in'igating the entrance along 142~'d Avenue, the playground area and the <br />small ballfield. To the north of the playground will be a 25' foot hexagonal shelter, with another <br />shelter at the south side of the 'lake' west of the Ponds Subdivision. <br /> <br />In addition, amenities such as a drinking fountain and approximately 12 trees along the trail (by <br /> <br />the new homes) are provided for. These improvements are summarized below: <br />Shelters, two, 25-foot hexagonal with cedar shakes and cupola <br /> <br />Irrigation, underground, 9-zone with radio control <br /> <br />Watennain tap and street crossing <br /> <br />Drinking fountain, vandal resistant <br /> <br />Electric service, (Connexus) <br /> <br />Meter socket and minor electrical <br /> <br />$39,546 <br /> <br /> $7,775 <br />$11,786 <br /> <br /> $2,000 <br /> $868 <br /> $600 <br /> <br /> <br />
