Councihnember Elvig stated that the Council recently passed an ordinance that requires that all <br />businesses need to register and apply for a permit with the City so eventually this may work itself <br />out. <br /> <br />Consensus was that if a property owner was no longer operating a business on their residential <br />property they should be charged only the residential rate. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson stated in regards to the townhome units staff is running <br />into a problem getting a timely calculation to Connexus because the way the rate has to be <br />calculated. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired as to how much more townhome unit was paying compared to a <br />single-family residential unit. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson replied about $3.00. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired as to why the townhome units cannot be charged on a per unit <br />basis just like single-family homes. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson replied that was the direction he would like to have. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to charge all townhomes units a per unit residential charge. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he thought it was an issue of the townhome people <br />putting pressure on the City.
