SPECIAL MEETING <br />RAMSAY CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on August 31, <br />1976, at the Ramsey City Hall, 14100 St. Francis Blvd., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilwoman Oliphant <br />Councilman Gorham <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Sha, City <br />~ngineer <br />Mr. William Goodrich, <br /> City Attorney <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Mayor Cox <br /> <br />Mayor Cox announced that notice of the meeting had been posted and <br />that the meeting was announced at the Council's regular August 23, <br />1976, meeting. He further announced that the purpose of the meeting <br />was twofold, the first item being that of personnel and staff, and <br />the second item the Anoka landfill situation. <br /> <br />Councilman Gorham initiated the discussions concerning the present <br />workload of the Administrative Secretary and he stated that that <br />workload was quite extensive at this time. He also asked if Sue <br />Thompson could assist in the City Hall and assist the Administrative <br />Secretary as she sees fit. A memo from the Personnel Committee <br />dated August 31, 1976, was read to the Council. It was noted that <br />the Personnel Committee discussed specific duties with Mrs. Thompson, <br />that Arlene has a copy of those duties and that Sue would be <br />responsible for bookkeeping and secretary to building inspector <br />plus she could work together with the Administrative Secretary on <br />general duties. Also, Mrs. Thompson would be responsible for <br />review of all licenses. It was noted that the majority of the <br />licenses issued by the City come due on December 31. Councilman <br />Gorha~ stated that he felt that even if a new Administrative <br />Assistant was hired within the next month, the administrative staff <br />needs the additional help. It was also noted that Mrs. Thompson <br />will not receive any fringe benefits as additional salary. <br /> <br />Councilman Gorham stated that Tim Pacquette will leave the City's <br />employ on September 30, 1976. and that he has comp time and <br />vacation time due him which will allow him to leave approximately <br />ten days prior to September 30. He will attend two more meetings <br />with the Park Committee and it was noted that he could also be used <br />on a part-time basis after September 30 for working on the <br />comprehensive plan for the City's parks. The comp time Mr. Pacquette <br />has coming is all recorded and shown on his time cards. <br /> <br /> <br />
