Regular <br /> <br /> -2- <br />Council Meeting <br />October 12, 1976 <br /> <br />Mayor Cox stated the dates on the unemployment request and said he had displayed <br />a document because he feels the public has a right to know. He said that a lot <br />of people don't know that this doesn't come out of insurance~it comes out of <br />the City's overall funds. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker said the public has been well informed by the resolution in the <br />newspaper and other items. He said it is his taxes too and he is entitled to it. <br />He asked what the point is behind this and asked if Council would condone <br />putting this out at his place of business in a derogatory manner. Mr. Walker <br />said this is private and not a political matter. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said it is irregular to collect unemployment from the 11th of September <br />when you are paid by the City through the 15th of September. <br /> <br />Mr. Rootes, 14100 Iodine Street suggested the city attorney check into this. <br /> <br />Approval of minutes. <br /> <br />Minutes of September 21, Special meeting on Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br />Councilman Gorham said Mr. Redepenning's name is misspelled, this correction <br />noted. <br />Motion by Councilman Gorham, seconded by Councilman Reimann to approve the minutes <br />~9/21/76 Special meeting as mailed. <br /> Carried 5 Ayes <br /> <br />Minutes of Special meeting, September 21, 1976, regarding Industry Boulevard <br />alignment. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker asked to have the minutes read. <br />Councilman Gorham replied that they will be on file for public information in <br />the approved form if anyone wants to read them. He felt it unnecessary to take <br />up time during the meeting to read these minutes. <br /> <br />Mrs. Drexler asked why are special meetings called? She said can't all this <br />be covered once on that day. <br />Councilman Reimann answered that there were threemeeti.ngsall held on the same <br />day one after the other. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox explained why a meeting had been held on Industrial Boulevard alignment. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Oliphant said it is her opinion that Council is having too many <br />Special meetings. There are occasions when Council does have to call special <br />meetings, but there are too many recently. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Mickelson to accept Special minutes <br />6f September 21, 1976, as received. <br /> Carried 5 Ayes <br /> <br />September 21, 1976, Special meeting regarding Waste Management. <br />Motion by Gorham seconded by Reimann to approve the minutes of the Special <br />me-6~-~i~g held on September 21, 1976, regarding Waste Management and the Landfill. <br /> Carried 5 Ayes <br /> <br />Regular Meeting, September 27, 1976. <br />Councilman Gorham made a correction on Page 3 regarding the date on Mr. Nereson's <br />employment. The date contained in the motion should be November 1, 1976, the <br />date Mr. Nereson will begin employment. <br /> <br />D~scussion ensued regarding the date. <br /> <br /> <br />
