Regular Council Meeting <br />October 13, 1976 <br />Continuation of October <br /> 12th Regular Meeting <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A continuation of the Regular Council meeting of October 12, 1976, was held <br />on October 13, 1976, at Ramsey Elementary School in the Music Room, Ramsey, <br />MN 55303 <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Gorham <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Reimann <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Clerk Peddycoart <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilwoman Oliphant <br /> <br />Mayor Cox called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />Approval of 6§enda. <br />Motion by Gorham, seconded by Reimann to approve the agenda for the continued <br />meeting with the following additions. After Resolutions & Ordinances, scheduling <br />of a meeting to discuss the EDA grant application; change in Regular Council <br />meeting date from October 25th to October 26th due to Holiday. Between items <br />f. and g., New Business, a report on meeting attended by the Assessor and Mayor. <br /> Carried 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br />Mayor Cox stated the procedure is to allow each person a couple of minutes to <br />make comments and Council will decide if it is something that can be taken care <br />of tonight or at another time. <br /> <br />There was no response. <br />Councilwoman Oliphant arrived at 7:45 p.m. <br />Letters & Communications. <br />Mayor Cox read a letter from Mr. Russell Asmunson concerning history of <br />community health. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox read a letter from Weaver Talle & Herrick stating they have donated <br />$75 to the City of Ramsey to construct signs depicting the city's boundaries. <br />Also, the Mayor thanked the Councilmen for donating money for the signs. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson's acceptance of Administrative Assistant position letter was <br />read by Mayor Cox. The contract is to be on the Agenda October 25th. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox read the following letters also. <br />Wheelock Witney letter on chemical dependancy and drug abuse treatment meeting <br />to be held on September 29, 1976, at 3 to 5 p.m. and at 7 to 9 p.m. <br /> <br />Columbia Heights letter regarding alcoholic beverage control in parks. <br />Mayor Cox directed that this be given to Mike Auspos to research and report <br />to Council. <br />Councilman Reimann stated that Ramsey has a definite problem in this area. <br /> <br />Conference on Community School, October 21 and 22.
