C. 10/26/76 <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on October 26, 1976, at Ramsey <br />Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, MN 55303 <br /> <br /> PRESENT: Acting Mayor Gorham Also PRESENT: Clerk Peddycoart <br /> Councilwoman Oliphant Attorney Goodrich <br /> Councilman Reimann <br /> <br /> ABSENT: Mayor Cox <br /> Councilman Mickelson <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham called the meeting to order at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Acting Mayor Gotham. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councilwoman Oliphant to approve the Agenda <br /> <br />for October 26, 1976, meeting with the following additions. Under Reports: Personnel <br /> <br />Committee, Lester Wirz completion of probationary period. Under Old Business: Phil <br /> <br />Nereson contract. <br /> Carried 3 AYES <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gotham stated that minute approval would be deferred until later in <br /> <br />the meeting when Mayor Cox and Councilman Mickelson arrive. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider, 15340 Xenon Street N.W., said that the previous city administrator <br />has stated in the newspaper that he started Community School program in Ramsey, she <br />questioned this and asked if Ramsey did in fact have a Community School program before <br />he came to the City. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham replied that the City of Ramsey did have a Community School program <br /> <br />in the summer of 1975 and Mr. Walker did not begin employment with the City until September <br />of 1975. <br /> <br />Mrs. Drexler, 6505 162nd Avenue N.W., said she has something to say to Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />She said it is in regard to the size of election signs he has posted in the City. <br /> <br />She feels since there is a sign ordinance which states signs are to be no larger than <br />4 X 6 feet that the Mayor should comply with the ordinance and that Council should see <br />to it that he does comply. The sign she is referring to is by Bob's Market and the <br />sign on wheels and she questioned why he would have that sign in Anoka. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich stated there is nothing specific in the City ordinance pertaining <br /> <br />to political signs. Section 6 of the zoning ordinance does state 4 X 6 feet is the <br /> <br /> <br />
