He said the City ought to look <br />into the problem, advise offenders in writing that they take the sign down or adopt <br />a political sign ordinance. He said it may be wise to consider raising the sign <br />limit to 4 X 8 feet, which is more of a standard sign size. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gotham was dubious whether the present ordinance would pertain to political <br />signs. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Oliphant stated in the absence of a political sign ordinance that the <br />signs in question would fall under the City sign ordinance. She said Mayor Cox should <br />be given 24 hours to remove the sign. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilwoman Oliphant that we add the issue of signs over the size of 4 X 6 <br />feet to tonight's agenda. <br /> <br />MOTION died for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Mrs. Drexler asked what Council intended to do about this situation. She said this is <br />not trivia and she doesn't think things written in the ordinance should be ousted. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham stated what she did about breaking ordinances is her own business. <br /> <br />Mrs. Drexler said she told the Mayor about this several weeks ago. He did move the <br />one by the City Hall. He did not remove the sign by Bob's Market. She said Council <br />would call her on it if she did not follow the ordinance and she is sorry that the <br />Mayor is not here to defend himself, be he Mayor or resident, this has nothing to do <br />with the election. <br /> <br />Mrs. Carol Gardner, said whatever happens in the next election she would like to see <br />meetings run differently with more citizen input and suggestions from the floor shown <br />some respect and more long range planning is needed. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />POLICE REPORT. Read and noted. <br /> <br />Mr. Mevissen reported that he has received a $200 estimate for scraping of the <br />pleasure rink at Ramsey Elementary School. The estimate is from Mr. Fred Tronson. <br />He asked if Council would like additional estimates. <br /> <br /> <br />
