Page 4 <br />C/20/26/76 <br /> <br />Councilwoman Oliphant expressed concern because of school children walking to the <br /> <br />store. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gotham questioned if they would agree to 45 mph. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich replied that he doesn't feel they would honor that but in <br />consideration of children he could ask them to reconsider the request. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham indicated that this is quite a problem in the summer when <br /> <br />children are out of school and walking back and forth to the store. The road is <br /> <br />dangerous and there are no shoulders. <br />Attorney Goodrich indicated he would pursue the matter further, <br />LETTERS & COMMUNICATIONS <br />The budget review was deferred until later in the meeting. <br /> <br />MOTION by Oliphant seconded by Reimann to table the budget agenda item until later <br /> <br />in the meeting. <br /> <br /> Carried 3 AYES <br /> <br />KLEMISH CONTRACT <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich explained the reason this is on the agenda again. Mr. Gfroerer <br />has a private arrangement with Mr. Klemish. He was to pay 1/Tth of the street..'~h~n <br />it was finally completed, therefore, he had to help pay for the bond and it was his <br />understanding that this would be done this year. Mr. Gfroerer went and asked Mr. <br />Klemish if he could pay him off at what was originally agreed and Mr. Klemish said "No,'. <br />Discussion was held concerning the streets in Klemish addition. <br /> <br />Consensus is that the Council has been very fair with Mr. Klemish in what has <br />happened in the past and will ask him if he will be fair and allow Mr. Gfroerer to <br />pay him now. <br /> <br />The engineer informed him that the bonding company could go bankrupt and the city <br />could put in the street and assess the property owner and Mr. Gfroerer should ~be aware <br />of that. <br /> <br />MOTION by Oliphant seconded by Reimann that the City Council withhold the agreement <br />with Mr. Klemish until such time that the city attorney has had conversation with <br />~. Gfroerer regarding this situation. <br /> <br /> Carried 3 AYES <br /> <br />LANDFILL <br /> <br />MOTION by Oliphant seconded by Reimann to table landfill issue until other Councilmembers <br />arrive. <br /> <br /> Carried 3 AYES <br /> <br />RENUMERATION FOR LORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN CHURCH. <br /> <br />Clerk reported that Paster Lee of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church quoted the price <br /> <br />of $30 per time for the use of the church to cover maintenance, lights, etc. <br /> <br />MOTION by Reimann, seconded by Oliphant to pay $30 to the Lord of Life Lutheran Church <br />each time for use of the church for voting purposes. <br /> <br /> Carried 3 AYES <br /> <br /> <br />
