Council 11/4/76 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Mayor Cox also reported on the need for a cushion in the budget in case problems arose <br />where the City would not receive income expected. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson reported that this budget is built on the bare necessities. <br />Councilman Gorham remarked that the municipal building expense is cut from this <br />budget. <br /> <br />Robert Muller questioned patrolmen's salary amount. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox explained the proposed patrolmen salary amounts. <br /> <br />Val Houle asked about having part time patrolmen instead of full time patrolmen. <br />Discussion was held on problems that may be encountered by having part time policemen. <br /> <br />]~o_tion by Gorha~, seconded by Reimann to adopt the 1977 budget with a total levy of <br />$242,887. Resolution No. 26. <br /> Carried 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Mayor Cox reported that he supplied 150 copies of the proposed budget and offered <br />these copies to the public for their input at public meetings that were held last <br />month. And, there appears to be no input or response which he really would like to <br />have had. <br /> <br />LANDFILL <br />Mayor Cox said he received a letter from Joe Sills on the ski area and two executed <br /> <br />copies of the Landfill agreement between the City of Anoka and the City of Ramsey <br />have been submitted and Council has copies for review. <br /> <br />Councilman Gorham stated the ski hill will be ready in January for people to use and <br />Ramsey is to provide access road to the sliding area. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson and Mr. Mevissen are directed to go out as soon as possible and determine <br />where the access should be and get a culvert installed right away. A copy of this <br />agreement is to be forwarded to Waste Management. <br /> <br />Councilman Gorham commented that it is a benefit for everyone for Anoka to give <br /> <br />the Landfill land to the City of Ramsey as per the agreement. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox agreed. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said through all negotiations, he would like to bring out one point, <br />that there is money being made and we are now going to get a piece of the action that <br />is due us. <br />Councilman Mickelson said the Company that is running the Landfill was making all the <br />money. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox reported on a meeting that had been previously held with Don Otter of Waste <br />Management and his staff and himself, Engineer Sha and Attorney Goodrich where the <br /> <br /> <br />
